A trusted industry insider has leaked the headlining title for April’s batch of free PlayStation Plus games, which will be available to all Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers next month. Although Sony has yet to make an official announcement regarding the upcoming set of free titles for April 2026, a source with a proven track record of PlayStation Plus leaks claims that Lords of the Fallen, the 2023 RPG from CI Games, will be the main free PlayStation 5 game for next month.

Each month, those subscribed to PlayStation Plus receive a handful of free games, which are available to keep for as long as users remain subscribed to the service. The Essential tier offers access to online multiplayer titles, as well as cloud storage and the aforementioned monthly games, while Extra subscribers can access a much larger catalogue of games. Although not available to keep, new titles are rotated in and out each month, similar to Xbox Game Pass. Finally, Premium users receive all of the same benefits as Essential and Extra subscribers, along with access to game trials and cloud streaming of classic titles.

Free PS Plus Essential Game for April 2026 Leaked

According to trusted industry insider Billbil-kun, who has been accurately leaking new PlayStation Plus games on Dealabs for many years, Lords of the Fallen will be joining PlayStation Plus as the headlining free game for April 2026. The 2023 action RPG from CI Games takes place in a vast, interconnected world with colossal boss battles, fast, challenging combat, and deep, immersive storytelling. As of writing, the title has a mostly positive review rating on Steam, as well as generally favorable reviews from critics on Metacritic. Billbil-kun claims Lords of the Fallen will be available to claim on the service from April 7 until May 5, with an official announcement expected from Sony later this month.

For action RPG fans who are fond of Souls-like combat, Lords of the Fallen joins PS Plus at the perfect time. Back in December, CI Games released a huge 2.5 update for Lords of the Fallen, which was the final major patch for the RPG. The update redefined the flow of combat, according to CI Games, with more intense boss battles, faster enemies, updated weapon animations, and a new veteran mode for those looking to put their skills to the test. Those who conquer veteran mode will be rewarded with the Veil warplate: a high-end armor set infused with a unique passive that boosts item drop rates.

CI Games is also gearing up to release a highly anticipated sequel to Lords of the Fallen, which means its addition to PS Plus gives both new and returning players the chance to brush up on their combat skills ahead of the sequel’s release. Lords of the Fallen 2 was announced at Gamescom 2025 and is set to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC sometime in 2026. Set a century after the events of Lords of the Fallen, CI Games says the sequel “amps up the brutality” and is built using Unreal Engine 5.

The remaining PS Plus Essential titles for April 2026 have yet to be revealed by insider Billbil-kun, which means fans will have to wait for an official reveal on March 31. What has been confirmed, however, is that subscribers will be losing access to two PS Plus Extra games in April, including EA Sports PGA Tour and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage (Tape 1 and 2). Both will be leaving the service next month, and there’s a strong chance that even more titles will join them in the coming days/weeks.
