A Destiny 2 player has recently faced a glitch during The Final Shape’s last cutscene which does set a good premise for memes, but ruins the intense and celebratory atmosphere that it was supposed to create. The Final Shape, released on June 4, 2024, is the latest expansion of Destiny 2, which brings an end to the decade-long light and darkness storyline.

For the majority of players, The Final Shape expansion introduced a great campaign story along with the release of Destiny 2‘s Salvation’s Edge raid. The raid is arguably one of the most challenging ones ever in the history of Destiny 2. Salvation’s Edge also sets the record for being the longest raid in the game, which took a whopping 19 hours to beat in the World’s First Race to complete the raid. Team Parabellum came out victorious in the World’s First Race and received the honor of being the first team in the world to beat the raid.

Destiny 2 Player Transforms Their Titan Into Kojima Productions’ Ludens Mascot

A Destiny 2 player shares their new Titan build with the community that looks almost identical to the Kojima Productions’ mascot, Ludens.

The glitch in the last cutscene of The Final Shape expansion was shown in a Reddit post shared by user Casper_Von_Ghoul. The actual cutscene is supposed to show the Guardian protagonist returning unharmed after the final battle with Destiny 2‘s ultimate antagonist, the Witness. However, in the video posted on Reddit, only the Guardian’s head returns from the battle, with the rest of the Guardian’s body reduced to an animation as if the rest of their body has not yet loaded in. The player who posted this hilarious glitch video said that they finally realized why the children in the cutscene were screaming when the Guardian returned. It’s worth mentioning that this is not a bug in the game, and the glitch occurred as a result of the player’s system not rendering the shaders properly.

Destiny 2 Player Reactions to Hilarious Glitch in The Final Shape

This post successfully entertained fellow players and fans as it gathered a massive number of upvotes and comments. The commentors mostly joked about the glitch with witty replies about the disappearing body of the Guardian, with some of them commenting that the Guardian is naked in the video. With this cutscene, The Final Shape concluded the Witness’ story arc and set up the future of Destiny 2, providing opportunities to introduce new antagonists and enemies to fight against.

Though the lengthy story arc has ended with this expansion, the game’s journey is not over yet. Bungie is still releasing updates and has also begun new Destiny 2 Episodic content focusing on smaller stories from threads that have not been resolved as of yet. In addition, Bungie teased something new for 2025 called Codename Frontiers which has left the Destiny 2 community to speculate as to what it could be, with some convinced that it could be the next big evolution of the franchise.
