For each and every update, Genshin Impact devises a variety of events to keep players occupied and entertained. Throughout the duration of the 4.6 update, there will be five events for players to participate in for fun and various awards. The main event will be the “Iridescent Arataki Rockin’ For Life Tour De Force of Awesomeness.” This interestingly named event will feature a new instrument, opportunities to play rhythm mini-games, and some familiar faces from Inazuma.

Given that this event is all about rock music, it seems odd for Genshin Impact to exclude its one and only rock star from the event. Arataki Itto is the main character for the “Iridescent Arataki Rockin’ For Life Tour De Force” but he is not known for his musical skills. Rather, Xinyan from Liyue’s entire personality is centered around her talent for rockin’ out. Fans have begun to express their confusion and frustration over Xinyan being left out from this rock-and-roll themed event.

Genshin Impact gives details about a series of time-limited events, which will be released in the version 4.6 update later this month.

Genshin Impact: Iridescent Arataki Rockin’ For Life Tour De Force Event Explained

The new 4.6 main event will bring players back to Inazuma, where Itto has teamed up with an NPC from Fontaine named Dvorak to bring rock ‘n’ roll to the people. Dvorak was also featured in the 2023 Lantern Rite Festival. He was involved with Xinyan and Hu Tao’s performance that year. The fact that Dvorak is familiar with Xinyan makes her exclusion from the new event all the more glaring.

The “Tour De Force of Awesomeness” seems to be entirely dedicated to Inazuma characters like Itto, Kuki Shinobu, and Yoimiya. Events are a good way for Genshin Impact to bring players back to older regions and refresh them with new content, but it is not unheard of for playable characters to travel to other regions. Even if this musical event was designed to be a reason to return to Inazuma, there is arguably still room for Liyue’s Xinyan to be involved.

  • Arataki Itto
  • Kuki Shinobu
  • Yoimiya
  • Heizou Shikanoin
  • Yae Miko
  • Gorou

Through this event, players can earn a free invitation for Gorou, the four-star Geo bow user.

Another Instance of Xinyan Being Forgotten

As of Version 4.5, there are a whopping 82 playable characters in Genshin Impact. It is surely difficult for HoYoverse to ensure that each of these characters gets their share of the spotlight. That said, the community has felt that some characters get more limelight than others. Since his release, Arataki Itto has been the main character of four separate events. Furthermore, he has also been featured as a side character in several other limited time events. Compare this to Xinyan, who has not been featured in an event since last year’s Lantern Rite.

It doesn’t seem fair for Xinyan to miss out on the music during the “Tour De Force of Awesomeness.” If there was an ideal opportunity to bring Xinyan to the fore and remind players of her significance as a rock star, this event would be it. Instead, Genshin Impact Version 4.6 will feature another Itto-led event just a few months after Version 4.3’s “Arataki Blazing Armor Beetle Battle Boot Camp.”

While it is true that Itto has proven to be a fan favorite character, this doesn’t mean that he can’t share the stage with Xinyan or other characters that have been left on the back burner by HoYoverse. Fans are concerned that developers are showing favoritism by having another event that prominently features Arataki Itto, as can be seen in complaints online. As such, the “Iridescent Arataki Rockin’ For Life Tour De Force” is a missed opportunity to feature a fiery character who cares about rock music more than anything else: Xinyan, Liyue’s first and only rock star.
