A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed old game footage that shows the original animations of two characters, Fischl and Childe, back in their development phase. Fischl was part of the original lineup released in version 1.0, which dropped back in September 2020.
HoYoverse has established a pattern of expanding the game’s playable roster with each new update that arrives, with Navia and Chevreuse being the two most recent additions. Before each character joins Genshin Impact‘s playable roster, they get released in the update’s beta phase, which arrives approximately 6–7 weeks before the official release, and it usually contains most of the upcoming content.
Genshin Impact Survey Shows Most Popular Characters in the Community
A dedicated Genshin Impact fan conducts a comprehensive survey that reveals the game’s most popular playable characters at the moment.
A couple of new posts on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit have revealed a set of old animations tied to two popular characters, Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort and Targaglia, better known as Childe. Fischl’s old animations show the character using some elements that belong to other characters. For example, her old Elemental Burst transformed Fischl into an Electro field that deals AoE damage similar to Lisa’s Lightning Rose. Many fans were caught off guard by seeing her fire Diluc’s Pyro phoenix with her Charged Attack. Both of these animations were placeholders since her loyal friend Oz probably wasn’t modeled yet. This led many players to believe that HoYoverse’s initial plan was to tie Oz to her Charged Attack.
Even though this leaked footage featuring Fischl was missing some key elements that are part of her kit now, her overall model seemed to be finished. The same cannot be said about Childe’s leaked animations, as the whole color palette on his model seemed incomplete and much different from his released state. Some fans have also noticed that this version of Childe had a hard time resetting after completing his Genshin Impact Normal Attack sequence.
The detail that got many fans excited about these animations is that his attacks seemed to be infused with Electro damage, which is unusual since Childe has a Hydro Vision. Some comments even pointed out that these powers could’ve come from a Delusion granted by the Fatui.
However, a credible leaker named Ubatcha has confirmed that while the attacks seem to have Electro elements, they actually applied Hydro damage. Childe and Fischl have decent synergy on the field since they can trigger the Electro-Charged elemental reaction in Genshin Impact, which deals Electro damage over time and spreads to nearby enemies that have the Wet effect applied on them.
Genshin Impact is an open-world RPG made by MiHoYo. Focusing on the interactions between seven elements, Genshin Impact is a free-to-play gacha game with a host of characters, weapons, regions, and more.
