A reliable source in the Genshin Impact community has revealed the upcoming characters for Version 6.4 and Version 6.5, with Varka and Snegurochka being its featured 5-Stars. With Genshin Impact introducing Durin and Jahoda in Version 6.2, many players have begun to wonder what comes next for its colorful cast. As a region, the playable characters of Nod-Krai appear to be split into two different categories: Lunar Reaction and Hexerei. The former is expected to revolve around Columbina as a centerpiece, while the latter has only recently been introduced in Version 6.2 via the Witch’s Homework.
The Witch’s Homework is a series of quests that players will be able to undertake in Version 6.2. Each quest will revolve around a specific Genshin Impact character from Mondstadt, and it will be a means of upgrading their ability kits into a modern, more powerful version. As of Version 6.2, Hexerei characters include: Durin, Albedo, Klee, Venti, Mona, Fischl, Sucrose, and Razor. However, upcoming 5-Stars such as Varka, Alice, and Nicole are all expected to join the Hexerei ensemble due to their connections to the Hexenzirkel.

Having established these two categories, a recent leak from DK2 claims that Version 6.4 will feature Varka as a playable character, while Version 6.5 will introduce Snegurochka. It’s important to remember that Version 6.3 will add three characters to Genshin Impact: Columbina, Zibai, and Illuga. Assuming these leaks are accurate, one can potentially map out an overview of upcoming Genshin Impact characters, and thus plan their Primogem spending accordingly. Moreover, the current ID list displays Sandrone as a future addition to the cast – but her debut is notably ordered after Nicole and Alice.
If one were to examine the list of upcoming Nod-Krai map expansions in Genshin Impact, both Varka and Snegurochka fit into the roadmap perfectly. Version 6.4 is expected to be Dornman Port, the northern subregion of Mondstadt. As the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, Varka would be the perfect character to accompany a modern Mondstadt zone. On the other hand, Version 6.5 is rumored to feature the ruins of Hyperborea. Snegurochka was previously mentioned in the weapon description for the Ballad of the Fjord – introducing her as Ajax’s lover, the hero who discovered Hyperborea.
While it’s important to take leaks with a grain of salt, this is likely the best overview that Genshin Impact players can hope for until January 14, 2026. Assuming they are interested in the Hexerei side of things, fans should keep an eye out for Varka, Alice, and Nicole. Conversely, if they’ve enjoyed their time with Lunar Reactions, then Zibai, Illuga, and Snegurochka could be more their style.
