Genshin Impact has officially unveiled its Chronicled and Event Banners for Version 6.5, as players will be able to pull for a total of nine different 5-Star characters over the course of the update. From a content standpoint, Version 6.5 focuses on two separate threads in Genshin Impact: the map expansion in Mondstadt that finally adds Dornman Port to the game, and the Flagship Event in Nod-Krai that summons characters from other nations to participate in a trade expo. While players will have to wait until Version 6.6 for Nicole and Lohen to further expand the ranks of the Hexerei, Version 6.5 comes with a few enticing reruns.
The first worth mentioning is Lauma and Nefer in Genshin Impact, a duo that takes the Lunar-Bloom reaction and catapults it to the top of the current meta. Players will be able to obtain both 5-Stars during Version 6.5, and to that end, HoYoverse has been kind enough to place Lauma and Nefer in the second half of the patch with enough time to stock up on Primogems by exploring Dornman Port and the Temple of Space. However, the real surprise of Version 6.5 lies elsewhere.

As confirmed by the official Genshin Impact account on Reddit, Version 6.5 will feature both the usual duo of Event Banners, but also a Chronicled Banner for Fontaine characters. The first half will be all about Linnea in Genshin Impact, the new 5-Star Geo Bow whose ability kit can best be described as Lunar-Crystallize’s answer to Lauma. She will be joined by Chasca, one of Natlan’s most versatile hypercarries. The second half of Version 6.5, on the other hand, will be headlined by Lauma and Nefer, but it will also debut the Fontaine Chronicled Banner, featuring Navia, Clorinde, Emilie, Lyney, and Sigewinne.

Like other Chronicled Banners in Genshin Impact, players will also be able to wish for Signature Weapons associated with the featured 5-Star characters. A few weapons worth mentioning include Verdict, Absolution, and The First Great Magic – all decent, universal options. Curiously, the Chronicled Banner is missing Wriothesley, a Fontaine character that is neither too recent (like Escoffier), nor particularly meta-friendly (like Neuvillette, Furina, and Arlecchino). The implications of this should be carefully examined.
Namely, it implies HoYoverse is preparing a separate rerun for Wriothesley in Genshin Impact in the near future, with Version 6.7 being the most likely candidate. With Sandrone rumored to be a Superconduct character set to make her playable debut in Version 6.7, Cryo may be undergoing another revival (beyond Freeze) in time for Snezhnaya. Whatever the case ends up being, many Genshin Impact players have found his absence either frustrating, surprising, or a mixture of both. Given the 5-Star waiting list for Genshin Impact, it is all but confirmed that the Liyue Chronicled Banner will shortly follow, as many of the region’s characters are long overdue for getting a rerun. The biggest offenders in this regard include Hu Tao, Ganyu, Tartaglia, Xiao, and Baizhu, all of whom haven’t been on any banner in well over a year.
For those concerned with the meta, Version 6.5 has two distinct paths for players to take: if they have a Geo hypercarry such as Navia or Zibai in Genshin Impact, they benefit the most from pulling for Linnea. If they lack a Lunar Reaction hypercarry entirely, then Nefer and Lauma may be worth the investment over anything else. Version 6.5 will last from April 8, 2026, all the way to May 20, 2026. This gives players ample time to make prudent decisions on how to spend their Primogems, as Version 6.6 will bring the focus back to the Hexerei.
