Ghost of Yotei Reveals Patch Notes for Major November 24 Update

Ghost of Yotei releases its highly anticipated November 24 update, adding a wealth of new content for players to discover, including New Game Plus. After launching back on October 2, Ghost of Yotei has seen plenty of success for Sucker Punch and Sony, with new updates continuing to improve and expand the experience for players.

Less than a week after releasing, Ghost of Yotei reached a major sales milestone for Sucker Punch, clearing 2 million sales only 3 days after launch. Based on the numbers, it was expected that the game already made back its development budget twice over, making it more impressive due to Ghost of Yotei being a PlayStation 5 exclusive. However, even with all the early success, Sucker Punch has continued to work on keeping the game updated, fixing issues and adding new features for players to dig into.

‘It Saddened Me The Day That I Had To Kill That’ Ghost of Yotei Cut Down One Major Feature Prior to Release

Ghost of Yotei creative director Jason Connell revealed one feature that was scaled way back prior to launch, but was ultimately the right decision.

While not a massive update in terms of overall size, Ghost of Yotei‘s November 24 patch makes up for it in the content it does add. As Sucker Punch previously announced, Ghost of Yotei now has a New Game+ mode for players to jump right back in after finishing the main campaign. Alongside all of Atsu’s armors, abilities, and weapons being available from the start, players will find a new vendor to interact with who accepts the unique Ghost Flowers currency, which can be earned from completing activities. In exchange, players can acquire 30 new cosmetic items like dyes, 2 armor sets, as well as 10 charms. Armor sets now have an additional upgrade tier and players can work towards two new trophies to unlock.

However, for those that don’t want to restart the game, this update also adds the ability to replay various open world content, such as all 22 Yotei Six Camps and 26 challenge duels. Ghost of Yotei’s already feature rich photo mode gained additional setting options, and players can now experience VRR as the feature is now supported. There’s also a “Balanced” graphic mode which sits in the middle of Performance and Quality, though it does require a display that supports a refresh rate of 120Hz.

In addition to a variety of bug and crash fixes, Ghost of Yotei continues Sucker Punch’s accessibility efforts by adding even more options. Players can tweak a variety of options to play how they want, including turning off fall damage, skipping Sumi-e activities entirely, enabling automatic looting of dead enemies, and even remapping touchpad swipe options to the D-Pad. There’s even a visual indicator when following animals like wolves or foxes during those side activities in Ghost of Yotei.

With this update, attention has now likely turned to the anticipated return of the Legends mode in Ghost of Yotei, which is launching sometime in 2026. Details are still limited, though the developer has confirmed that it’ll have 2 co-op and 4 survival missions against demonic versions of the Yotei Six. Players will have another 4 classes to pick from, though details on who or what they will be are not yet known.
