Gamers eagerly waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6 have been discussing the logistics of the game’s potential environmental destruction, with many hoping that it’s more true to life than past entries. Grand Theft Auto 6 feels closer than ever, but a lot of fans still have no idea what to expect from the game.

Over the years, Rockstar has built an impressive reputation for itself as a developer that is capable of crafting game worlds that feel incredibly realistic. Red Dead Redemption 2 turns eight years old this year, but plenty of gamers still use it as the standard for how realistic open-world games should feel. Rockstar’s Wild West era outlaw tale still wows, and that makes the expectations surrounding GTA 6 that much greater. The features that make GTA 6‘s Vice City and the surrounding fictional state of Leonida lifelike remain to be fully seen, but some fans are hoping that Rockstar starts with realistic obstacle physics.

GTA 6 Clone Breaks Gamers’ Hearts, Leaves Them Waiting for Its Official Release

As the wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 continues, another anticipated GTA clone has failed to meet a lot of gamers’ expectations.

GTA Fans Are Wanting More Realistic Environments in GTA 6

Reddit user DaVoiceOfTruth shared a meme on the GTA 6 subreddit showcasing one of their greatest fears for the game. In one image, a golf cart is destroying a traffic light pole easily, but the following picture shows a giant tank unable to take down a small tree. The GTA franchise’s trees have become notorious over the years, as even many of the smallest ones seem like they’re made of steel. GTA 6 leaks and rumors have continued to pop up over the years claiming to reveal gameplay features, but whether small trees will continue to stop a speeding car or tank dead in its tracks is still a mystery.

DaVoiceOfTruth’s Reddit post has sparked some debate about whether completely realistic environmental physics is worth Rockstar’s time or not. Defenders of GTA‘s indestructible trees have responded with reminders that a lot of real-life trees are far stronger than some would expect, even if they are small. Cars crashing into trees and leaving the plant mostly unscathed happens quite often in reality. GTA 6‘s map is expected to be the biggest the franchise has seen, and Rockstar will likely have to pull back on at least a little bit of realism in order to ensure stable performance.

The Wait for GTA 6 is Heating Up

If all goes according to plan, then GTA 6 will finally grace gamers this November. Another delay is always possible, but Take-Two Interactive’s earnings call back in February made it sound like development was going smoothly. Based on the call, marketing is anticipated to ramp up this summer, which will hopefully bring forth the long-awaited third trailer.
