Rockstar Games has officially confirmed a $400 Grand Theft Auto 6 collector’s edition, which doesn’t include the game. The developer says The Goodtime State: Vice City Collection is inspired by Leonida’s hit TV show, Macca the Gator, and it’s now available to preorder. It’ll launch on November 19, the same day as GTA 6.

It’s a pretty solid selection of swag, but is it worth $400? Immediate reactions online have been very critical to the price that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive are charging for this box of collectibles, but as people online have pointed out, this collector’s edition will likely sell out fast–and there are already eBay listings for it. Scalpers pounced on the GTA 6 DualSense controllers when they were first announced, and on eBay, they’re currently selling them at a premium.
It’s also not too surprising to see a collector’s edition that doesn’t include the video game it’s based on, as several big games have opted to sell standalone merchandise bundles. Marathon, Diablo 4, and Borderlands 4 are a few notable examples, and in the case of GTA 6, Take-Two Interactive won’t have to risk preorder cancellations. According to a third-party research company, GTA 6 has already generated over $400 million in revenue from preorders alone.
