Eagle-eyed Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have noticed a surprise Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Easter egg in the latest Extended Look. While the new GTA 6 Easter egg only appears briefly, it’s unmistakeably a nod to the 2025 Game of the Year award winner.

The GTA 6 Extended Look was released on August 27, offering fans a 26-minute glimpse into what Rockstar has been working on since GTA 5 and RDR2. Every frame of the footage was crammed with tiny details, and fans have wasted no time scouring every single frame looking for brand-new tidbits about what to expect from GTA 6.

GTA 6 Clair Obscur Easter Egg Shows Poster In-Game

In the days following the Extended Look, Redditor Popular-Vehicle-8487 noticed that during the scene in which the player looks into a window and spies on someone using a VR headset, a poster in the background appears to be a parody of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33‘s cover art. It reads “Tenebrae Lux,” which means “Shadow Light” in Latin. For context, Clair Obscur is a French translation of the words “light dark,” which makes this undeniably a reference to the 2025 GOTY award winner.

Rockstar has never been shy of making fun of other games in Grand Theft Auto, and it seems as though GTA 6 is going to continue the tradition. One of the recent GTA 6 leaks from Cyberleek featured a video game store in which fake covers for Dark Souls and The Last of Us parodies were shown off, so Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 certainly won’t be alone.

It’s cool to see what details GTA 6 fans have been able to uncover so far from the Extended Look. Some even noticed a GTA 6 Dexter Morgan Easter egg after realizing that the TV serial killer’s apartment seems to appear in the game. Given the density of the 26-minute trailer, there’s no doubt plenty more hidden that fans are yet to discover.

It’s clear that the hype machine for GTA 6 is going to go into overdrive between now and its November 19, 2026, release. Rockstar just released three new Grand Theft Auto 6 screenshots to continue the hype, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg for the marketing campaign that will inevitably take place over the next few months.
