A trusted insider has revealed new details about the highly anticipated third trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, while also reassuring fans that any concerns of another release date delay should be “put aside.” As today, May 6, marks the first anniversary of Grand Theft Auto 6‘s second trailer, fans are hoping that developer Rockstar Games will soon give the community some new details on what is undoubtedly the most anticipated title in video game history.

Grand Theft Auto 6 has had quite the turbulent development timeline, as Rockstar has suffered data breaches, legal battles with ex-employees, and numerous delays. Fans got their very first glimpse at Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2022, when a huge leak saw approximately 90 pieces of early development footage make its way online. It wasn’t until a year later, in 2023, when Rockstar released Trailer 1 to the world and showed the game in an official capacity. At the time, the studio was aiming for a Fall 2025 release window, but that target was then pushed back to May 26, 2026. Then, Grand Theft Auto 6 was hit with another delay, this time moving its release date to November 19, 2026. And with less than 200 days left to go and still no new trailer, fans are growing concerned that another delay is on the horizon.

Insider Says GTA 6 Won’t Be Delayed Again

Concerns over Grand Theft Auto 6‘s November 19 release date are beginning to ramp up, but trusted insider Detective Seeds, who has a proven track record, previously revealing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle‘s PS5 release date and Oblivion Remastered‘s April 2025 release window, has now said fans don’t need to be concerned. In a new post on Twitter, the leaker said fans will see Rockstar show the third Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer on its own, similar to the previous two trailers, but that it will also appear during a PlayStation event to show off a new PlayStation 5 Grand Theft Auto 6 bundle. Detective Seeds goes on to say that any concerns over another delay should be “put aside,” as bundle SKUs should start appearing at retailers such as GameStop soon.

Of course, despite Detective Seed’s track record, this information should still be taken with a pinch of salt. But, with that being said, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick did recently reveal that the studio seemingly has some sort of marketing deal with PlayStation for Grand Theft Auto 6. As has already been confirmed, Grand Theft Auto 6 won’t be a PS5 exclusive, but the CEO did recently touch on why the game won’t launch on PC on day one, and said that the console exclusivity isn’t associated with Take-Two’s marketing deal with PlayStation. So, given that the two companies are working together, a trailer for a new PS5 Grand Theft Auto 6 bundle wouldn’t be impossible.

Zelnick has also reiterated his confidence in Grand Theft Auto 6‘s current release date multiple times over the past few months, even revealing that marketing for the title will begin in the Summer. For a company such as Take-Two, it’s almost unheard of for marketing plans to be revealed to the public ahead of time, which shows Zelnick’s confidence that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch this November. Of course, that doesn’t mean that a third delay is completely off the cards, but at this point, it’s starting to seem unlikely.

With that being said, a recent company review from a supposed employee of Rockstar India did scathe the company and accuse it of some serious crunch ahead of Grand Theft Auto 6‘s release date. With a AAA release such as this, overtime is to be expected. However, the employee’s Glassdoor review claimed that developers are working until 3 am to do five to six months of work in just two or three months.
