After going quite for more than a month after Grand Theft Auto 6‘s extended gameplay reveal on Netflix, Cyberleek resurfaced earlier this week with a fresh dump of new footage, including a look at Jason without any clothes on. Now the leaker is threatening to release the entire build of the game they have access to if people buy enough of Cyberleek’s meme coin to raise the market cap to over $30 million. The only way for Rockstar to allegedly stop this whole mess, according to Cyberleek, is to produce a disc-based version of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S game.

“Here’s the deal, nice and clean,” reads a new “offer” notice published on Cyberleek’s website on October 10. “CYBERLEEK hits 30 million marketcap, the build goes out—full story mode, played to the end, credits and all. Don’t believe it has full story mode? Ask for what you want to see, and it gets provided. Take-Two gets one way out: physical disks and a public apology. They can take it at any moment. Or they can gamble that CL is bluffing. Everyone knows which one they’ll pick.”

People have long suspected Cyberleek may have somehow come into possession of a working build of GTA 6 given the unique nature of each of videos they’ve leaked, and this week’s 25 minutes of additional gameplay footage appeared to reaffirm that theory. In addition to seemingly using a debug mode to show Jason naked following a day of debate about whether the character would show dong in the upcoming open-world game, Cyberleek also appeared to recreate various snippets of gameplay that mirrored what was shown in the Netflix reveal back in August.

We still don’t know anything else about who is operating the Cyberleek account, who they’re working in concert with, and how much of these stunts are just an attempt to get rich and raise their infamy rank online versus actually pushing for the end of certain game industry practices believed to be anti-consumer as Cyberleek’s original manifesto claimed.

The Cyberleek account went quiet back in late August after seemingly withdrawing $250,000 worth of its meme coin, leading to the crypto scheme’s immediate crash. This latest threat just looks like round two of the rug pull, though this time with much more devastating consequences for Rockstar potentially attached to it.

The studio and parent company Take-Two subpoenaed Discord and Microsoft back in August for a trove of online user records related to the posting and spread of Cyberleek’s gameplay videos. There’s been no update since on what Discord ended up handing over or how that investigation has progressed. Fans had also been attempting to find out who was behind the leaks and unmask them, though the effort appeared to take a back seat once the leaks eventually died down.

With just a little over a month to go until GTA 6 releases, this could end up being just one last attempt to chase clout and grift off the hype or the worst gaming leak in history.
