A Destiny 2 player has recently shared an animation they created where the Witness is shown serving dumplings at the American restaurant chain, the Dim Sum House. The Witness was first revealed at the end of The Witch Queen expansion, though its story arc was featured long before throughout the events of Destiny 2. This entity of darkness is the final boss in The Final Shape DLC, as well as the Salvation’s Edge Raid that was introduced in this expansion.

The Witness is behind all the mishaps the Guardians have faced throughout the events of Destiny and its successor. Defeating the Witness in Destiny 2 is nothing short of a mammoth task in the latest expansion, so much so that even pro players recognize it as one of the hardest boss fight in the game. It’s worth mentioning that in The Final Shape expansion, players have to defeat the Witness, not once, but twice in consecutive missions. The first encounter with the Witness occurs at the end of the campaign, followed by the Excision mission, where players have to defeat the mighty boss once and for all. Alternatively, players can face The Witness again for a third time by reaching the end of the Salvation’s Edge Raid, which took Destiny 2 pros 19 hours to complete in the World’s First Race event.

Destiny 2 Temporarily Disables Rewards From Private Crucible Matches

Bungie disables rewards from private Crucible matches in Destiny 2 due to a recently discovered exploit within the game’s PvP mode.

The player who shared the animated video of the Witness is a Reddit user with the handle Sword_of_Summer. The video shows the Witness, or The Final Chef as the redditor puts it, walking and serving dumplings at a restaurant, putting its huge collection of hands to good use. Adding to the surprise, the dumplings seem to be getting cooked inside the smoky head of Destiny 2‘s ultimate antagonist.

The fan artist also put a small and cute detail on the smoke of the Witness’ head. In the animated video they posted, the smoke changes its shape continuously to generate faces of cats, and of course, there’s no end to that, just like the number of hands the Wintess has. Fellow players and commentors found the animation hilarious and loved the small references to The Final Shape DLC and its gameplay. Jokes aside, The Final Shape has provided the perfect ending to the Witness’ story arc in Destiny 2 that began in 2014 with its predecessor.

The downfall of the ultimate antagonist does not, however, indicate the end of Destiny 2. It’s only the beginning of a new chapter in the franchise’s history, as it opens up the possibility of introducing new antagonists and enemy classes. While fans eagerly anticipate the next major DLC or expansion pack, Bungie keeps updating the game and balancing the latest weapons and items in Destiny 2.
