The Webby-award winning narrative mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is officially kicking off its 8th Anniversary celebrations with new expanded content for Beyond Hogwarts, exclusive themed rewards, and a special quest with one of the most beloved characters first introduced in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has achieved a number of major milestones since it first launched in 2018, including over 160 million lifetime installs, more than 100.7 billion minutes played, and nearly 2.25 trillion House Points earned. With the game’s 8th Anniversary set to arrive on April 25, fans can now get an early look at what to expect from upcoming festivities.
While the ability for players to choose their own Hogwarts house in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has certainly been a major draw, audiences have been delighted by the variety of updates that have expanded the game far beyond the castle walls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. What began as a streamlined 10-chapter experience through life as a magical student has since grown to almost 200 mainline chapters through Year 7, plus over 50 additional chapters and storylines in the Beyond Hogwarts expansions. To celebrate the 8th Anniversary of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, even more brand-new content will be added, with players having familiar faces and special surprises waiting.

Beginning April 15, Beyond Hogwarts Volume 3 will become playable in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. The climactic conclusion to Volume 2 in Chapter 30 will be unveiled and will see fans’ personal and professional lives crashing into each other. Sirius Black’s escape from Azkaban has left the Wizarding World reeling, and players will need to continue their investigations of rumored Cursed Vaults hidden beyond the walls of Hogwarts while facing the looming presence of even bigger problems than a runaway prisoner. Luckily, the entire Weasley family will be waiting to reunite with fans, and Harry Potter himself might just make an appearance. In addition to the Weasleys, the adorable house elf Dobby will be arriving in the newest Beyond Hogwarts update in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

Dobby is now a free elf and needs help finding a job, leading players to the Knight Bus and Leaky Cauldron. Players can keep an eye out for a special gift that will be arriving just in time for the launch of Beyond Hogwarts Volume 3, and another giveaway, available starting April 1, will grant an exclusive 8th Anniversary themed reward customized for each Hogwarts House. A mysterious chest, believed to have been owned by Newt Scamander, will require finding five keys to unlock the secrets hidden within, while an unexpected adventure with Rowan at the Khanna Family farm will stir up dark rumors and adventurous stories about Hogwart’s Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore. Hagrid and Professor Sprout will also make an appearance to celebrate Earth Day with fans of Herbology in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.
