A recent leak from Honkai: Star Rail‘s upcoming Version 2.4 is teasing an interactive new piece of story content, featuring Yanqing competing with new five-star character Yunli. With Version 2.3 of the massively popular sci-fi RPG wrapping up the story of its newest world of Penacony, HoYoverse has already given fans a taste of what’s to come next. Previous leaks have suggested that Honkai: Star Rail will return to the Xianzhou Luofu during its next updates, with Version 2.4’s character lineup seemingly acting as confirmation. Now, leaks are teasing one new character’s involvement with the story.
In the lead-up to the launch of Honkai: Star Rail‘s Version 2.3, HoYoverse officially revealed three new characters players will be able to pick up during the next update. Version 2.4 will feature Jiaoqiu and Yunli as its two newest five-star roster members, both from the Xianzhou Luofu. The developer also confirmed the long-rumored new form of March 7th will debut during Version 2.4, with players able to switch back-and-forth between her Preservation and Hunt forms in-game. A new teaser now suggests Yunli will be getting a special moment during the update.

Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases Yunli Story
A recent leak shared by prominent HoYoverse leaker HomDGCat is teasing a special story moment for Yunli during Version 2.4. According to the leak, Version 2.4’s story will feature a particularly unique battle, with new five-star character Yunli appearing as an opponent competing with Yanqing. Players will take on the role of Yanqing for the fight with the goal of defeating more enemies than Yunli, though fans will reportedly be able to use their own in-game characters for the mission. The fight is also reportedly scripted to go both ways, with outcomes planned for both Yanqing and Yunli winning.
While Honkai: Star Rail has not fully revealed the connection between Yunli and Yanqing, the game’s lore may have already teased their interactions. Yunli’s initial reveal for Honkai: Star Rail introduces her as the granddaughter of Xianzhou Luofu Arbiter-General Huaiyan, a member of the legendary High-Cloud Quintet. Yanqing, in-game, serves as the retainer for fellow Arbiter-General Jing Yuan, suggesting a rivalry may have developed between the two. Honkai: Star Rail‘s Version 2.4 will launch on July 30.
Yunli’s upcoming debut in Honkai: Star Rail‘s Version 2.4 comes as plenty of highly-anticipated characters have been teased for the coming patches. Rumors surrounding Honkai: Star Rail have hinted at the release date of popular Penacony character Sunday, suggesting he may be planned to release in Version 2.7. The long-awaited Screwllum has also continued to see leaks about his playability, with the most recent showing some of Screwllum’s in-game animations. Between Sunday, Screwllum, and the three Version 2.4 characters, Honkai: Star Rail looks to have plenty of exciting roster additions on the way.

Utilizing a turn-based combat system, the game includes dungeons, multiple planets, and a gacha system for unlocking new characters. Debuting on April 26, 2023, on PC and mobile, Honkai: Star Rail has also been announced for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
