A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail has revealed details about the gameplay for upcoming five-star character Aventurine, ahead of his release in Version 2.1. The debut of Penacony has brought plenty of new characters into the world of the massively popular HoYoverse RPG, both releasing in Version 2.0 and teased for later updates. Version 2.0 saw the release of Black Swan, Sparkle, and Misha, while HoYoverse would officially confirm three more characters set to arrive in the following update. While Aventurine was the subject of several rumors ahead of Penacony’s launch, players already had the chance to meet him long before Honkai: Star Rail‘s latest update. Aventurine first appeared as an NPC during Version 1.4’s “Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream” Trailblaze Mission, introduced as a senior manager within the Interastral Peace Corporation. He is also teased within Honkai: Star Rail‘s in-game lore, mentioned in both Topaz’s character story and voiceovers and Black Swan’s voice lines. Honkai: Star Rail Leaks Aventurine’s Kit
A new leak shared by prominent HoYoverse leaker HomDGCat has revealed the first details about Aventurine’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail. Previously revealed to be an Ice Preservation character, similar to past five-star unit Gepard, Aventurine’s Skill applies a stackable shield to all allies based on his DEF, also utilizing a unique card mechanic. Aventurine’s Ultimate also benefits his new “Coin” mechanic, gaining Coins, dealing damage, and potentially lowering an enemy’s Crit Damage. The Coins are used with his Talent, dealing extra Imaginary damage when he acquires 6 Coins.
Aventurine’s complex mechanics come with plenty of bonuses through his Traces and Eidolons as well. Aventurine’s Traces give him bonus Crit Rate, increased Effect RES for allies with shields, and providing bonuses like extra shields with increased durations when using his “Coin Attack.” Aventurine also acquires several special bonuses from his Eidolons, with his E1 providing Crit Damage boosts to allies with “A” and “B” cards and his E4 adding a follow-up attack to his arsenal. Aventurine is expected to release during the Version 2.1 update, confirmed to be launching on March 28.
Aventurine won’t be the only new character joining Honkai: Star Rail during Version 2.1, with two other characters also set to debut. The highly-anticipated Acheron will launch during Version 2.1, appearing as the sci-fi RPG’s variant of beloved Honkai Impact 3rd character Raiden Mei. Gallagher will also join the game as a new four-star unit, teased as a supportive Abundance character utilizing debuffs and healing allies. Honkai: Star Rail‘s roster looks set to add multiple unique characters to its lineup throughout Penacony’s opening updates.
