A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail is giving fans an early look at some of the explorable areas set to be added with the game’s third world, Penacony. With the popular sci-fi RPG from HoYoverse gearing up for the release of its first new world since the game’s launch, the developer has already begun to tease players about Penacony. HoYoverse recently revealed the first playable characters from Penacony, with the highly-anticipated Black Swan joining the roster alongside Sparkle and Misha. Now, new areas from the game’s next world are being teased.
HoYoverse provided a plethora of teasers for Honkai: Star Rail‘s newest world throughout both the Version 1.6 Special Program and a trailer during the Game Awards. The developer showcased several of the new characters players will meet within Penacony, including characters like Aventurine and Sunday among others. Upcoming character Acheron has also been heavily speculated to be Honkai: Star Rail‘s version of popular Honkai Impact 3rd character Raiden Mei. The newest leaks from Penacony are now giving players a closer look at some of its explorable areas.

A pair of Honkai: Star Rail leaks show some assets from Acheron, a brand-new Nihility character that will be released in version 2.0.
A recent leak shared by prominent Honkai: Star Rail leaker c2tr via Team Chikawa showcases several explorable areas within Penacony. The images feature two unique zones within Penacony with “Dream Border” and “Golden Hour,” showing off some of the aesthetic inspirations for Honkai: Star Rail‘s newest world. The locations within the leak are filled with bright colors and unusual NPCs, emphasizing the steampunk feel with mechanical dogs, birds, and even people. The post also gives players another look at the in-game model for Black Swan, using the five-star character to explore the game’s new zones.
Penacony’s addition to Honkai: Star Rail is expected to arrive alongside a plethora of new content for the popular gacha RPG. Leaks have suggested Version 2.0’s release will see the addition of a new boss within Honkai: Star Rail, with players able to pick up two new Relic sets. Penacony’s first characters will also be joined by a special login bonus, with players able to acquire up to 20 Star Rail Special Passes for free during Version 2.0. Penacony and Version 2.0 are expected to launch on February 7.
With Version 2.0 on the horizon, Honkai: Star Rail is looking to end its first release cycle with a bang in Version 1.6. The update, released earlier this week, brings a trio of new characters to the game with Ruan Mei, Dr. Ratio, and Xueyi joining Star Rail‘s roster. The update also adds a new game mode to the fan-favorite Simulated Universe with “Gold and Gears,” as well as giving players a free copy of Dr. Ratio during Version 1.6’s second half. Honkai: Star Rail fans have plenty to look forward to with Penacony’s release just around the corner.
