Honkai: Star Rail will introduce a brand-new endgame mode, Apocalyptic Shadow, in version 2.3 later this year. In Honkai: Star Rail, farming relics and ascension materials in Simulated Universe, Pure Fiction, and Memory of Chaos is a common endgame activity for most players. These combat-oriented modes set Trailblazers against enemies they have encountered before.

Details about Honkai: Star Rail version 2.3 are still scarce, but some credible leakers have revealed what content might be included in the update. It’s being speculated four relic sets and three Light Cones will be up for grabs in the next version. Several four-star units will reportedly appear on time-limited banners. In addition, Honkai: Star Rail‘s Sunday, Robin’s elder sibling, will allegedly make his debut in update 2.3, which is expected to be released in June 2024.

Apocaltyptic Shadow Is The Newest Endgame Mode Within Honkai: Star Rail

As stated by the developers, the Apocalyptic Shadow mode will bring new combat strategies and a richer gameplay experience. Similar to Honkai: Star Rail‘s Pure Fiction, it will require players to earn as many points as possible to get rewards like upgrade materials and Stellar Jades. More details about the mode will be unveiled in the near future.

Speaking of endgame modes, Honkai: Star Rail‘s Simulated Universe will undergo significant changes and feature a new domain, Divergent Universe. This multi-stage domain will coexist with the original Simulated Universe and have more varied combinations between Blessings. Moreover, it will allow players to save their Curios and Blessings they obtained in their latest run. One thing to note is that the upcoming domain will have the “Restart Challenge” function, which allows Trailblazers to restart the current battle without losing any progress.

Although Honkai: Star Rail is currently in version 2.2, HoYoverse has revealed some details about 2.3, confirming that farming Planar Ornaments (relics) will be easier. For the unaware, many players have been requesting significant changes to the game’s relic system, which they think is unrewarding. Thankfully, HoYoverse seems willing to solve the problem by adding the Divergent Universe mode, which has the new Planar Ornament Quick-Claim function.
