Neverness to Everness (often shortened to NTE) is a free-to-play open-world action RPG developed by Hotta Studio, the team behind Tower of Fantasy. Released on April 29th, it blends anime-style combat, supernatural mystery, urban exploration, driving, and life-sim mechanics into one game.
Taking place in the fictional city of Hethereau, a modern metropolis where strange paranormal events called “Anomalies” happen alongside ordinary city life. NTE is a gacha game, but it takes that now-common formula and expands it in new ways. In fact, Neverness to Everness reinvents the gacha system in many exciting ways that pave an exciting path for the future of the gacha genre.
The Removal Of The 50/50 System
Obtaining More From The Gacha System
One of the biggest reasons people are paying attention to Neverness to Everness isn’t just the urban open world with anime aesthetics or the high-octane sensation when driving around the simulated world; it’s what the gacha system has in store for paving the way for future of the game. In most, if not all, gacha games, even when your luck is at its worst and you hit pity, there is only a 50% chance that you’ll get the character that you initially wanted. Losing that coin flip will have you pulling more than you originally intended just to make even. Neverness to Everness removes this entirely, making it so that if you pull, you’re guaranteed that character in 90 pulls or less, and if they’re on a featured character list, you’re going to obtain them no matter what.

Which Free S-Class Standard Character Should You Pick in NTE?
Players can choose free S-Class Standard Characters in NTE through the Standard Banner beginner promotion and from S-Class Standard Selector Boxes.
The gacha utilizes a Monopoly-esque board where players’ premium or standard currency are dice that are rolled to move their character a set number of times to gain the reward from the space they land on. This board has the chance to reward the player with one or up to five standard banner pulls each time they roll the dice, extending how long you can stay rolling and further increasing your pull value. Furthermore, the gacha board features special tiles that, when stepped upon, will grant the user the opportunity to earn special, unique awards akin to cosmetics, pull currency, or even limited arc, which are the weapons of Neverness to Everness.
Pity Carryover For Characters And Cosmetics
Recording Progress Even On Reruns
The Pity Carryover in Neverness to Everness is one of the best of its kind. If you fail to get the limited character on the current banner in time, but so happen to throw your luck at the next character, the game will record how many pulls you’ve accumulated previously and shorten how many pulls you’ll need to guarantee obtaining the next character.
This same mechanic also applies to cosmetics in terms of cosmetic pulls. In Neverness to Everness, investing up to 50, 120, and 200 pulls will give you specialized cosmetics and decals incorporating the character. Such a heavy investment might scare newer players from investing in characters they like, but Neverness to Everness will actually record how many pulls you’ve invested into that specific banner and, upon reruns, will allow you to continue right where you left off whenever they decide to bring that banner back again, giving your pulls much more value.
You Can Toggle Your Dupes’ Awakening Power
Player Agency, In My Gacha Game?
This begs the question: why would you pull on a character banner even after you obtained the character? Well, Neverness to Everness does something unique that no other gacha has done before. That’s the ability to toggle which Awakening (NTE’s version of Mindscapes, Eidolons, Constellations, etc.) abilities you can turn on. NTE gives the player free rein to toggle which abilities they wish to turn on, and if the player wants to utilize a different ability,, then they can freely switch, more so with multiple duplicates. This encourages the player to freely pull whenever they wish, should they have the currency, as they can freely invest in their favorite characters and adjust builds to further enhance their capabilities.
NTE: Complete Fishing Guide
Fishing is one of the most enjoyable activities in Neverness to Everness. Here’s everything you need to know about this hobby.
Players will have to understand, however, that the game does give specific buffs if a character is given duplicates three or fully maxed out six times. However, these buffs are negligible, regarded, and only needed for whales, and aren’t necessary to make the current roster of 16 characters viable in the slightest.
Standard Banner Weapons Are Free In The Overworld
What Gacha Game Even Does That?
Another highly regarded aspect of Neveress to Everess is its unique take on weapon banners. Every character you unlock for free, as well as all Standard Banner characters, can unlock their unique weapon Arc all within the game’s overworld. By exploring various anomaly zones and fighting the boss of their respective area, players will be able to easily obtain these special arcs that their main character and standard banner characters can then utilize.
Neverness to Everness also isn’t skimping on generosity to ensure players get the most value out of their time, allowing the player to obtain an S-Class Hunter of their choice after 50 Standard Banner pulls on a discount, only requiring 40 standard dice in total alongside a free S-Class Selector to once again choose an Agent of their liking. Paired with the extra 10 limited banner pulls that will accompany them during Hotori’s release, players will find themselves strapped with enough pulls to spend freely or accumulate until the next character that interests them releases.
How To Get All Free S-Class Arcs In NTE (S-Rank Weapons)
NTE is pretty F2P-friendly in the early game, as you can collect free S-Class Arc for your characters by playing the game.
The weapon banner also introduces the player to Tri-Keys, which are the weapon banner’s exclusive premium currency used to pull for limited Arc systems. You’ll only be able to pull on these banners in increments of 10 Tri-Keys per pull, so players will have to really think about if what they’re pulling for is what they really want. Through leveling up their hunter rank and tycoon level, they’ll be able to earn free Tri-Keys through account level rewards and be able to purchase more with fons (in-game currency) through the Hunter Exchange when reaching certain level requirements. Or, if the player really requires a specific character’s Arc, they can use Annaluth (premium currency) to purchase the Tri-Keys necessary to pull for more.
You Obtain The Best DPS On The Game For Free
At The Cost Of A Debit Card And A TON Of Fons
Last, but not least, regarding the Tycoon level and adding onto just how unique Neveress to Everness is, is debuting with the character known as Chiz. Chiz, as of right now, is regarded as one of the best DPS characters in the game, with her viability open as soon as players reach Tycoon Level 18, a task that every player is eventually going to achieve by progressing through the game naturally. Not only that, this character, alongside their weapon, will be fully capable of being awakened the longer a NTE player plays, as all of their duplicates will be available and earned simply by raising their Tycoon Level. NTE players can enjjoy the fruits of having up to three limited characters, all at the start of the game, so long as they’re willing to invest in them and comfortably obtain all the weapon Arcs they’ll need to make them viable. All this without spending a single dollar.
Neverness to Everness improves upon the Gacha system by allowing the player a wide array of choice regarding what they can pull on, providing a generous number of pulls just from playing the game at their own pace, and gifting the player enough pulls to comfortably obtain every character currently available in the game, with the means to obtain skins for them either through gacha luck, increasing your bond level with them, or simply using fons to buy them. This, alongside the unique narrative the game is spinning and the more slice of life and intriguing story beats, makes Neverness to Everness an engaging experience that anyone can enjoy!
