Pokemon Pokopia is all about discovering new Pokemon and helping them restore their homes. For the game’s third map location, Rocky Ridges, the Pokemon need your help to rescue a chef and throw a really great party. In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the objectives for Rocky Ridges, including cooking meals, powering up your skills, and building hype for a party.

Make sure to check out our complete guide hub for Pokemon Pokopia, including how to time travel, build all habitats, and more.

How to start the Rocky Ridges questline

“Time to Party” is the main quest for Rocky Ridges, but there are several steps you’ll need to do before you can get tasked with this specific questline. To get yourself prepared ahead of time, scavenge leaves, wheat, and beans throughout your journey, and plant any seeds you have. You’ll need these items for cooking recipes later in the quest. This area’s questlines also help you power-up your Pokemon skills through various tasks.

Rocky Ridges starts by guiding Professor Tangrowth to the remains of the area’s old Pokemon Center. Here you’ll learn that you need to move the PC toward the electrical supply for the Pokemon Center. You find that you aren’t strong enough to move it, but this area’s questline includes tasks that will award you with upgrades for your skills. Professor Tangrowth says you need the help of Machoke.

  • First, create a “Red tall grass” habitat to meet Scorbunny.
  • Talk to Scobunny to learn about Machoke’s habitat.
  • Create a “Grassy training field” habitat to attract Machoke.
  • Talk to Machoke to workout with them and learn your strength upgrade.
  • Now, you can push the PC back into place at the Pokemon Center.

Talk to Professor Tangrowth. Your next quest will take you to the kitchen area nearby. There’s a Pokemon stuck in a barrel, but you don’t have a strong enough ability to free them. These next steps will help you level up your cutting ability, so you can slice through metal.

For this part of the questline, you’ll need to do the following:

  • Build a “Pointy tree-shaded rocky tall grass” habitat to spawn Dartrix.
  • Craft a chopping board. (It requires two lumber.)
  • Use the chopping board to make a salad using two leaves. You also need to eat it.
  • Build the “Mossy hot spring” habitat to spawn Torkoal.
  • Craft a bread oven (Need two stones, two small logs and four volcanic ash.)
  • Bake bread in the oven by using three pieces of wheat. (You’ll need a fire-type Pokemon like Scorbunny to light the oven.)
  • Eat the bread and cut the chain.

Now, you’ve leveled up your cutting ability and used it to free the Pokemon in the barrel. Talk to Chef Dente to continue with the questline. Chef Dente wants you to cook a burger, so now you’ll need a frying pan.

  • Talk to Machoke and follow them.
  • Cut the fence to access the mining tunnels.
  • Built the “Digging and burning” habitat to spawn Magmar
  • Have Magmar make two copper ingots using the smelter in the tunnel.
  • Craft the frying pan (You need two copper ingots.)
  • Make a hamburger steak using four beans.

During the time you’re cooking and working on these quests, you’ll eventually find Scorbunny looking worried. Talk to Scorbunny to continue with the questline. He mentions sound in the tunnel, but you’ll notice there isn’t a tunnel where he’s facing. You need to punch a hole in the wall to reveal a mining tunnel.

  • Complete Scorbunny’s request to the sound.
  • Talk to DJ Rotom in the tunnel
  • Head back outside and to Professor Tangrowth.
  • DJ Rotom will join you with the others to come up with a plan.

DJ Rotom wants to throw a party, but the Pokemon will need your help. Now, you’ll need some decorations, party platters, and a hype Pokemon.

  • Talk with Chef Dente.
  • Clear out a place for the party.
  • Place the cooking pot.
  • Talk with Professor Tangrowth.
  • Get at least one large relic to place and some decorations. Balloons and banners work fine here.
  • Craft five party platters using one iron ingot each.
  • Cook five dishes to place on the party platters.
  • Bring DJ Rotom CDs. They can hold up to five, but you only need to give them one or two to progress.
  • Built the “Uplifting Duckweed” to spawn Ludicolo as the party’s “hype” Pokemon.
  • Finish decorating to bring the hype level to 100. This can be done by adding balloons, banners, and even party cups from the shop.
  • Once the hype reaches 100, talk to Chef Dente to get the assignment to place food items in the cooking pot for the main curry dish. You need 15 Leppa berries, 15 wheat, 15 beans, and 5 honey.

Now assign some Pokemon to help Chef Dente cook, and the curry will take a few minutes to cook.

You and your Pokemon friends are ready to party once the food is finished cooking. The guide will end here to avoid spoilers, but all you need to do is interact with specific Pokemon when prompted, and you’ll complete the Rocky Ridges questline.

Now you can finish rebuilding the Pokemon Center, raising comfort levels of your Pokemon, or continue on through the next gate in the area.
