HoYoverse has officially announced a new closed beta test for its upcoming life simulation game, Petit Planet. Players can pre-register and sign up now for the game’s newest Stardrift Test through the official website for Petit Planet.
The newest game from the Genshin Impact developer draws inspiration from some of the most popular entries in one of gaming’s biggest genres. Petit Planet is heavily inspired by cozy life simulation games like Animal Crossing, whisking players into a colorful world with plenty of cute animal villagers to befriend. HoYoverse has already teased plenty of details about what fans will be able to do in Petit Planet, showing off home decoration, farming, mining, and much more. Now, fans are getting their first chance to try out Petit Planet ahead of the game’s full release.

Petit Planet Is Getting a New Closed Beta Test
HoYoverse officially announced a brand-new Stardrift Test for Petit Planet on April 2, opening sign-ups for the new beta. Players can now pre-register for Petit Planet through the game’s official website and fill out a short survey to apply for the beta. The survey asks players questions about their experience with different games, both HoYoverse titles and other life simulation games, and provide information about the device they will use for the test. Petit Planet‘s new beta will be available to accepted players on PC and mobile devices, while HoYovers also confirmed giveaways for early access through the game’s social media channels. The Stardrift Test for Petit Planet is scheduled to begin on April 21.
Teasers for Petit Planet have already showcased a wide variety of things players will be able to do in the game. The official website for the game introduces fans to some of the first Neighbors they will meet in Petit Planet, including the Cultivator Yunguo and the Route Patrol Officer Harpeno. HoYoverse also emphasizes the different activities players will be able to engage with in the life simulation game, teasing player-created musical performances, the fully customizable world in the game, and the mystical environments of the Starsea. A full release date for Petit Planet has yet to be confirmed.
Petit Planet‘s newest beta test will serve as many fans’ first chance to experience the game, though some fans have already gotten their first taste of the game. HoYoverse previously held its first closed beta test for the game in September 2025, launching the Coziness Test to a limited number of players. The developer previously confirmed that data from Petit Planet‘s first closed beta test will not be carried over to future tests, meaning that players will need to start over from scratch. HoYoverse has not confirmed how long Petit Planet‘s new Stardrift Test will run.

Petit Planet comes as the latest entry in the Genshin Impact developer’s expanding portfolio throughout recent years. Following the success of the open-world RPG, the developer has launched multiple successful new games, including Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero. HoYoverse also has multiple new games in development alongside its ongoing games, revealing the Pokemon-like monster-catching game Honkai: Nexus Anima in 2025. Petit Planet looks to be another successful outing as HoYoverse continues to establish itself as a premier gaming studio.
