For fans of old-school shooters like Duke Nukem, Quake, and Doom, Humble’s got a new Bundle that’s right up your alley. The Best of Boomer Shooters Penta Boom 5 bundle includes up to PC seven games, each one offering its own take on the signature high-speed pulse-pounding wall-to-wall action we’ve come to expect from this subgenre of shooters. Since this is a Humble Bundle, the pricing is a little tricky, but it can work in your favor. You choose how much you pay, and the more you pay, the more games your bundle includes–and the more money goes to charity. For this bundle, the charity cash goes to Oceana, a group dedicated to ocean conservation, preventing overfishing, and protecting threatened species. If you grab the full seven-game bundle, you’ll pay just $20, which saves you quite a bit compared to the deal’s $158 value.
One of the most stylistically interesting games in this bundle is the boomer shooter Sulfur. You take on the role of a gunslinger delving deep into the dark to shoot adorably spooky little goblins and monsters with a dizzying array of powerful firearms. With a roguelite progression system, you have the freedom to craft a build that perfectly suits your playstyle–but don’t overextend yourself, or you’ll end up losing that hard-won loot.
Metal Eden offers a more sci-fi-forward experience, but it’s no less brutal and fast-paced than the other entries on this list. You take on the role of an advanced battle android and use a vast array of weapons and your enhanced agility to kill wave upon wave of cybernetic machines on your quest to unravel the secrets of Project Eden. For real, you spend a lot of time in the air in this game, dashing, wall-running, pulling off feats of cyber-parkour that would put Faith from Mirror’s Edge to shame.
We’ve had a fantasy-inflected shooter and a sci-fi cyber-action shooter; now it’s time to talk about one set in the 1930’s. Killing Time Resurrected is a shooter set in the early 30’s, putting you in the shoes of a student studying Egyptology. You end up trapped in the estate of a deranged heiress hell-bent on performing a ritual to give herself eternal life. As these things usually go, it went awry, and now it’s up to you to undo the curse and kill a bunch of monsters while you’re at it. The art style is very reminiscent of the classics of the boomer shooter genre, paying homage to the roots of this subgenre.
The full lineup of games included in the Best of Boomer Shooters Penta Boom 5 Bundle is listed below. Note that Humble is only offering the deal until March 25. All games purchased in the bundle are delivered as official Steam keys, but these keys have an expiration date, so redeem them soon. Killing Time Resurrected keys will expire on September 25th, 2026, while the rest are valid through March 25th, 2027. Once you’ve redeemed your codes, they’re added to your Steam library for good (or at least until Steam’s servers shut down or the collapse of the observable universe, whichever comes first).
