Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact Reveals Two More Playable Characters

Bushiroad Game and Eighting have released a brand-new trailer for Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact, confirming two more playable characters for its roster: Machi Komacine and Uvogin. This licensed fighting game was first announced last December, with a reveal trailer for Nen X Impact released at the start of 2024. The reveal trailer gave a brief look at the game’s roster, confirming six playable characters off the bat, along with a sleek anime art style.

The reveal trailer for Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact didn’t give much information about its gameplay, other than confirming it was a 3v3 tag-team fighting game. This left fans a bit confused about what type of game it was, wondering if it would be a 3D arena fighter or a 2D fighting game. Many have noted the perspective and Eighting’s past works, like DNF Duel and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, would likely see Nen X Impact being the latter. With EVO Japan 2024 now underway, Bushiroad and Eighting have revealed more about the game, including part of its roster and gameplay.

The new trailer confirms that Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact is a 2D 3v3 team fighter, similar to the Marvel vs. Capcom series and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Players can call upon their teammates to assist them in battle, either to disrupt an opponent’s offense or to extend their combos. The trailer also shows brief pre-match introductions between the leading members of each team, such as showing Kurapika interacting with Uvogin.

The trailer also confirmed Uvogin and Machi Komacine for Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact‘s launch roster, though in very brief moments, with Uvogin acting as a sandbag for Kurapika and his team to demonstrate their moves on. Uvogin is a major antagonist of Hunter X Hunter, one of the members of the Phantom Troupe, a group who Kurapika is seeking revenge on. Machi Komacine is also a member of the same troupe, who is said to be one of the most stoic and cold-hearted members of the group.

Players in attendance at the EVO Japan 2024 fighting game tournament this weekend can also play the game for themselves.
