Popular Twitch and Kick streamer Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt did not back down from comments he made prior to his two-week ban from Twitch and stated he also had a health scare during his suspension from the platform. Despite the current ban, Asmongold remains one of the most followed Twitch streamers to date.
After establishing a reputation on YouTube due to his World of Warcraft gameplay content, Asmongold started streaming on Twitch in 2014. Since 2025, most of Asmongold’s content consists of gaming and political discussions with his chat on both Twitch and Kick. Though the topics that Asmongold brings up can be inflammatory and controversial at times, that has not stopped the Texas-based creator from attaining a sizable audience. During the second quarter of 2025, Asmongold became one of the most-watched streamers across both Twitch and Kick, with over 20 million collective watched hours on each platform.
Asmongold Responds To Latest Twitch Ban
Days after Asmongold was banned from Twitch for the second time in 2026, the controversial creator responded to his temporary suspension from the Amazon-owned service. Asmongold stated on YouTube that he was not backing down from comments he made about shooting migrants and their children who try to cross an international border. While Asmongold doubled down on his initial rhetoric, he then admitted the ways he communicates to his audience can be seen as harsh. Asmongold claimed that 40,000 to 60,000 migrants crossed a border in a single day and said, “I apologize for nothing, and I do think these borders should be defended like this when it’s being invaded.”

However, Asmongold was also open to toning down his thoughts during a stream, since he does not want his recent suspensions to be a recurring issue with Twitch. Asmongold’s second channel, ZackRawrr, has been banned from going live on Twitch since the August 6 ban went into effect. Asmongold also stated that he had a health scare during his suspension and compared it to symptoms that affected his late father. Asmongold said that, while he is okay at the present, he still had lingering worries about his health. Given that Asmongold’s health and living conditions have been the subject of controversy throughout his streaming career, it remains to be seen how his health will fare moving forward.
However, this is not the first time that Asmongold’s words have landed him in trouble with Twitch. Asmongold was banned from Twitch in April 2026 for making inflammatory statements about people from the Middle East. Although Asmongold was initially handed down a week-long ban for his remarks, his suspension was cut short after just three days. Rather than go live after his ban was lifted early, Asmongold opted to take some time off to get some dental work done.
As of this writing, Twitch has not officially commented on Asmongold’s recent ban from the platform. In response, some users have called for Asmongold to be permanently banned from Twitch for not apologizing for his recent comments. Should the current suspension not be changed in any way, the earliest that Asmongold can go live again on Twitch is Thursday, August 20. It remains to be seen when Asmongold will go live following this suspension.
