The upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will see veteran voice actor Troy Baker play the titular treasure hunter. Bethesda revealed that it is working on an Indiana Jones video game back in 2021, with subsidiary Wolfenstein studio MachineGames on developmental duties. There has been very little official information in the years since the Indiana Jones game’s first 30-second teaser trailer was shown, save that it is being produced exclusively for PC and Xbox consoles following Microsoft’s buyout of Bethesda parent company ZeniMax Media in 2021.
After a nearly two-year wait, eager fans finally got a full look at Indiana Jones and the Great Circle during the latest Xbox Developer Direct Showcase livestream. Set between the events of the first and third Indiana Jones films, the game is a first-person action-adventure title with third-person segments that sees Indy embark on a globe-trotting quest to uncover the mysteries of the titular “Great Circle.” Along the way, players will use Indy’s iconic bullwhip to attack enemies and transverse the environment as they solve ancient puzzles and avoid deadly traps.
What Dial of Destiny’s Box-Office Flop Could Mean for MachineGames’ Indiana Jones Game
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hasn’t been the box-office hit Disney was hoping for, and that could have an impact on MachineGames’ Indy game.
Now Bethesda has revealed the voice behind the lead character of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and it is someone that most modern gaming fans will easily recognize. Troy Baker is stepping in for Harrison Ford as the fedora-wearing archaeologist, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. MachinesGames’ co-founder and lead game designer Jerk Gustafsson discussed the casting choice and praised Baker for capturing Indy’s charm and sense of humor. “He’s also a very big Indiana Jones fan, which is super cool,” Gustafsson adds. “So he’s also very invested in the game.”
Troy Baker is a name that comes up often in the world of video game voice acting, as he has performed in numerous titles throughout his long career. He is most famously known for playing Joel Miller in The Last of Us franchise, with some of his other big roles being Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, numerous characters in the Batman: Arkham series, including Robin and Two-Face, and Snow Villiers in Final Fantasy XIII. Interestingly enough, Baker portrayed Nathan Drake’s brother Sam in the Uncharted series, which is heavily influenced by Indiana Jones.

Judging from what can be seen in the brief Indiana Jones and the Great Circle trailer, it looks like Troy Baker is doing a great job in channeling Harrison Ford as the legendary treasure hunter. The rest of the game’s confirmed voice cast includes Marios Gavrilis (the German voice of Bruce Wayne in Gotham Knights) as main antagonist Emmerich Voss and Alessandra Mastronardi as Gina Lombardi, an investigative journalist who will serve as Indy’s companion on his latest globe-trotting journey.
