Fortnite has just started its ‘No Sweat Weekend,’ which tweaks weapon drop rates, reduces lobby sizes, and increases the amount of XP players will gain during a match. This is the last weekend before Fortnite‘s Chapter 6 finale event on November 29, so it’s a great opportunity for players to jump back in and grind the last few levels of the Battle Pass before the season ends.
For the last three weeks, Fortnite has been hosting a Simpsons-themed mini-season, complete with iconic Springfield POIs, beloved characters as NPCs, and weapons ripped right out of the animated show. While the general reception to the Fortnite x Simpsons season has remained positive throughout its duration, some players have shared their belief that the season is slightly harder than usual, likely due to the smaller map size.
Fortnite’s No Sweat Weekend Has Officially Started
Epic Games has heard this feedback and is conducting a short experiment this weekend to try and give disgruntled players a bit of an easier time in matches. Fortnite‘s No Sweat Weekend began on November 22 at 9am ET and will run until Monday, November 24 at 9am ET. The biggest change taking place this weekend is a reduced lobby size in unranked battle royale modes.
Fortnite‘s Simpsons mini-season already reduced the game’s usual 100 player count to 80 to accommodate for the smaller size of Springfield, and during No Sweat Weekend, that number is dropping down even further to 60 players. In its official announcement post on X, Epic Games claims that this smaller lobby size should offer tighter skill-based matchmaking bands and should lead to a “generally more relaxed pace.” During Fortnite‘s No Sweat Weekend, players will also be able to find the Deodorant Applicator more readily as drop rates have been increased. Participating in No Sweat Weekend will also grant all players five Supercharged XP levels.
Even before this announcement, Fortnite was experiencing a rather eventful week. Fortnite‘s Chapter 6 finale event was officially confirmed a few days ago, and its teaser trailer promises a dramatic clash of pop-culture giants. Soon after, Epic Games hosted an in-person event in Los Angeles to celebrate the upcoming Fortnite x Kill Bill crossover and to tease the upcoming season. Attendees also got a chance to play Fortnite Chapter 7 for the first time, which resulted in a number of leaks hitting the internet that detailed new Battle Pass skins, collaborations, and gameplay features coming in the new season.
