Even though the Game of Thrones TV series concluded over seven years ago, Jon Snow remains a very popular character with fans. George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels have yet to reveal his true fate, but now, Jon Snow is returning for new release Game of Thrones: Crow of the Free Folk.
Back in 2022, a Jon Snow TV spin-off was confirmed with Kit Harington returning to the role. There has been very little movement on the project since, and it has been assumed to be on hold, leading many to wonder when they would next see Jon Snow in a new Game of Thrones release. That question has been answered with the announcement of Game of Thrones: Crow of the Free Folk.

The new Game of Thrones: Legends Summon is named Crow of the Free Folk, and will be released on November 18 at 4 AM ET, running until 2 AM ET on December 16. For the uninitiated, Game of Thrones: Legends is a mobile puzzle game created by Zynga, one of the biggest mobile developers in the world. This 2024 Game of Thrones release was a way for players to bring the world of Westeros to their mobiles, where gamers use Summons to recruit fan-favorite characters onto their rosters. Available Summons change with every event, which are usually themed based on groups featured in the show. The Jon Snow and free folk-focused Crow of the Free Folk event is sure to be very popular when it launches next month.
New Game of Thrones: Legends updates are released by Zynga very frequently. On the Google Play Store, the game boasts an impressive 4.5/5 rating, with over 1 million downloads just on that platform to date. Game of Thrones: Legends is an excellent way to revisit classic characters while getting that quick fix of Westeros.
Even though Game of Thrones has been finished for over seven years now, the franchise remains alive and well thanks to a host of spin-offs and projects across other mediums. On TV, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms have been met with critical acclaim akin to the original show, while Game of Thrones: War for Westeros is an upcoming RTS game that is also bringing back Jon Snow when it releases next year. There’s definitely plenty for fans to look forward to, even though the franchise may not have the stranglehold on pop culture that it seemed to have throughout the 2010s.
