Nintendo Switch 2 gamers looking for something new to play should definitely be sure to circle Thursday, July 23 on their calendars. The Nintendo Switch 2 has been on a roll ever since it launched last summer. Not only has Nintendo released plenty of high-quality first-party games on the Switch 2, but third-party partners have also stepped up to support the device.

At launch, the Switch 2 was treated to popular third-party games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut. Earlier this year, Resident Evil Requiem released on the Switch 2 to rave reviews, and next month, Bethesda is bringing The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered to the platform. Some past Nintendo consoles have seriously struggled when it comes to third-party support, but the Switch 2 is an exception to the rule so far, and that is especially apparent when it comes to its July 23 lineup.

New Switch 2 Games Coming on July 23

  • Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game
  • Cultic
  • Disgaea Mayhem
  • Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster
  • Splatoon Raiders

On July 23, a whopping five games will release for the Switch 2 all on the same day. That day, Switch 2 owners can look forward to checking out Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, Cultic, Disgaea Mayhem, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster, and Splatoon Raiders. Five games all releasing on the same day is unusual, and should add up to July 23 being a particularly busy day for Switch 2 gamers.

Out of all the new games coming to Switch 2 on July 23, there are a few that should be of particular interest to owners of the platform. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, for example, is a 2D fighting game based on the popular Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game features a roster of fan-favorite characters and stages pulled straight from the show, and is releasing just a couple of days before the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender movie is released on Paramount+.

Switch 2 gamers may also want to pick up Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster on July 23. Final Fantasy 10 is largely considered to be one of the best games in the Final Fantasy series, and while its sequel isn’t as beloved, it’s still a well-regarded game. Having both in one package is an excellent deal, and while the games are currently playable on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, it will be nice for them to get native releases on the platform.

However, the headlining new game coming to Switch 2 on July 23 is Splatoon Raiders. Splatoon Raiders is a new Splatoon spin-off that focuses on single-player missions as opposed to PvP. Splatoon Raiders has co-op support as well, so up to four players can team up together to take on its challenges. Between Splatoon Raiders, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, and the other games dropping on July 23, Switch 2 gamers have an especially busy day ahead of them for sure.
