LEGO has offered a stacked lineup this year, but the big downside of fresh build options is that it means some past sets have to be retired. Stopping production on certain LEGO sets isn’t anything new, but it does put a ticking clock on a lot of great models. Between Star Wars, Nintendo-inspired sets, and comic book brands like Marvel and DC, the LEGO sets scheduled to retire on July 31 cover a wide range of franchises and iconic builds. Thankfully, fans still have a little bit of time left to get their hands on these soon-to-be-discontinued models.

Star Wars LEGO sets are some of the most popular products that the toy company makes, and a substantial number of specific models are going to be retired once July 31 rolls around. Some are even being replaced by new versions. For example, The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter is getting an upgraded model.

Buy The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter

This new version is arriving just in time for The Mandalorian and Grogu movie. The film is set to release on May 22, so it’s not too surprising that LEGO would want to replace the 75325 model with a fresh take on the Mandalorian’s ship. LEGO and Star Wars have a long history with one another. So, even though a lot of sets are being retired at the end of July, there are bound to be other versions or completely new sets to help fill the void that they will leave.

The new version of Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter will be available on May 4 (Star Wars Day). LEGO Insiders will be able to get the set early on May 1.

LEGO may have built a reputation over the years for featuring great pop culture crossovers, but some of the best LEGO sets have been the brand’s original series. There are a lot of original LEGO sets that are being put into retirement this year, and July 31 marks the first wave. Iconic builds like the Mona Lisa, NASA’s Mars Rover Perserverence, and the Great Pyramid of Giza have been some of the most exciting original sets from the past few years. Collectors who are less interested in major media franchises and prefer LEGO’s original ideas have some tough decisions to make when trying to choose which sets to splurge on before they’re gone.

Whether one wants to build a LEGO flower garden with the Botanicals Flower Bouquet or has been eyeing the Statue of Liberty for an architecture-based collection, time is running out on a few essential sets. Car fans, art lovers, and LEGO fans who simply love to build regardless of theme have many build options to consider before July 31.

There are plenty of great LEGO sets for kids to choose from, and some of the company’s biggest kid-friendly series are part of the July retiree lineup. Dreamzzz, LEGO City, LEGO Friends, and LEGO Classic will all be parting ways with a variety of fun sets come July, but there is still ample time to grab them for birthday presents or if you want to get ahead of the game on holiday shopping.

Since the majority of these kid-friendly sets have smaller piece counts, they’re a lot cheaper than many LEGO set prices. So, this leaves a lot of wiggle room to potentially buy multiple sets for kids, nieces and nephews, or younger cousins. These kits are also just great options for general LEGO collectors.

The LEGO Ninjago series is another one of the company’s best kid-friendly brands, but it also has a lot of crossover appeal. Because of the Ninjago TV show, manu have grown up with this LEGO spin-off. It’s sad to see these six builds leave, but there is still a silver lining. New LEGO Ninjago sets are coming out this summer, according to leaks. It’s simply another case of “out with the old, and in with the new.” Since the Ninjago series is now such a nostalgic and beloved franchise for many LEGO fans, those who have wanted to build as complete of a collection as possible will want to jump on some of these sets. Before the LEGO Ninjago summer kits launch, right now is the perfect chance to jump on this current lineup before they’re gone.

Disney fans who are into more generalized memorabilia would probably be drawn to the Magic of Disney and Minnie’s Pet Hotel sets. After this list officially retires, it’s going to be interesting to see what the Disney newcomers will be. With Disney being one of the biggest media companies in the world, its partnership with LEGO isn’t slowing down any time soon.

The classic Batmobile is just one of the many Batman LEGO sets that are out there, but the way it honors the original TV series gives it an extra touch of nostalgia that will make a comic-focused collection really unique.

When it comes to Marvel LEGO sets, there are a few new ones that are on the way to help promote Spider-Man: Brand New Day. There have also been several leaks hinting at a set centered around Avengers: Doomsday. Before those arrive, though, adding Dancing Groot and Captain America: Civil War Battle to a collection might be worth it.

Last, but certainly not least, are the seven Harry Potter LEGO sets that are being sunsetted. LEGO and Harry Potter have been going strong together for over two decades now. Now that the live-action HBO reboot is scheduled to premiere at the end of this year, it’s going to be fascinating to see if it influences any future Harry Potter kits. There’s no way to know for sure, but it may be ushering in a new version of Harry Potter LEGOs. That would make these seven sets even more valuable collector’s items once they have officially been retired.

Multiple Fortnite, Horizon, Bluey, Nike, BrickHeadz, Seasonal, and exclusive sets are also expected to be retired this year, but they don’t have an official date yet.
