While many Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe that its marketing has been lackluster thus far, that could be coming to an end soon. Indeed, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick indicated that GTA 6 marketing would begin in the summer, and the only news so far this summer was the GTA 6 price, standard and ultimate editions, and pre-orders. Of course, this dissatisfaction is nothing when GTA 6‘s pre-orders are probably over the moon right now.

This dissatisfaction stems from wanting to see more of GTA 6, with only two trailers and a bunch of screenshots available to fans right now. There’s still plenty of time before GTA 6‘s November 19 release date, and many insiders such as Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake leaker NateTheHate have suggested that Rockstar will make that date. Hopefully that’s true, but there’s still time between now and then.

GTA 6 Gameplay Coming in August?

Joining the insiders commenting on GTA 6‘s marketing strategy is Millie A, someone who is mostly reliable. They’ve made some too-vague-to-know posts and have had some big misses over the years, but they’ve also been accurate a fair bit as well. It could be that they are simply predicting this because of Take-Two’s August financial earnings report, which takes place on August 7, but it might also be that they know something. Simply, Mille A has stated that fans will get an “in-depth gameplay video detailing the world and mechanics” in August.

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.

Take-Two’s August 7 report takes place the morning before markets open, when they usually take place after they close, leading to speculation that Rockstar Games will reveal something before then. GTA 6 Trailer 3 makes the most sense, and based on what Millie A is saying, it sounds like GTA 6 Trailer 3 will focus on gameplay (although that’s not historically how Rockstar works). It would be surprising, although not unprecedented, for Rockstar to drop another story trailer for Trailer 3 and then another gameplay video at the same time or later in the month. Either way, it seems GTA 6 is on track and gameplay could be inbound.

Indeed, that’s the biggest question on fans’ minds right now. Rockstar has yet to showcase any real GTA 6 gameplay, and that’s going to be the definitive aspect of the product. While the new GTA 6 characters and return to Vice City are exciting, it’s going to be the moment-to-moment action and story that makes it a legendary, seminal release, and showing that off right is important. The golden rule in this industry is that anything can flop, yes even GTA 6, and while that’s unlikely to happen, fans should try to keep their expectations in check until Rockstar decides to show its hand.

That said, analysts have predicted that GTA 6 will make billions in its launch week, becoming the biggest video game launch in history to date. That would not be surprising in the least, but for now, fans just have to sit, twiddle their thumbs, and await whatever Rockstar wants to show off.
