Warner Bros. Games has officially moved up the release date for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight by one whole week. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was originally set to launch on May 29, 2026, but it’s now releasing on May 22.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be the fourth entry in TT Games’ LEGO Batman series. Much like past LEGO Batman games, Legacy of the Dark Knight won’t be adapting a collection of specific Batman live-action movies, but will instead tell its own story, this time being a new version of the Caped Crusader’s history, encompassing his origin and the founding of the Bat-Family. That said, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will still feature a plethora of references and homages to the DC hero’s history in live-action and animation via lines of dialogue and alternate outfits.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s Release Date Has Been Moved up to May 22, 2026
On March 16, Warner Bros. Games officially announced that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has a new release date of May 22, 2026. This announcement came in the form of a very brief 16-second teaser trailer showing the titular hero, the Gotham City skyline, and a Bat-Signal that revealed the new launch date.

While this new release date puts LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight safely ahead of one blockbuster title, it puts it in the firing line of another. Now releasing on May 22, LEGO Batman is launching just three days after Forza Horizon 6 and one day after Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. The first few weeks of May will also see the launch of Mixtape, Directive 8020, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. 007 First Light is also set to round out the month on May 27.
While Warner Bros. Games’ official press release doesn’t give a specific reason for moving up LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight‘s release date, it does confirm that those who purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game will still receive three days of early access, meaning that those players will be able to hop into LEGO Batman from May 19. The press release also states that pre-orders for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions of LEGO Batman are available now, with pre-purchases of either version granting players an in-game outfit inspired by The Dark Knight Returns.
On top of the three days of early access, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight‘s Deluxe Edition will include a ‘Legacy Collection’ DLC that adds an Arkham Trilogy Pack, a Batman Beyond Pack, and a Party Music Pack. Each of these packs adds seven alternate outfits to the game (one for each playable character), as well as one Batmobile skin and five Batcave props. The Deluxe Edition will also grant players access to the ‘Mayhem Collection,’ which is a post-launch DLC that’s targeting a September 2026 release date. This DLC will add a new story mission to the game, along with a new Mayhem mode, playable versions of Harley Quinn and The Joker, and a Sinister Pack that also adds seven alternate outfits for the original playable characters, one Batmobile skin, and a Batcave prop set.
