The online LEGO community is ever-growing, and over the years, fans have started to share their creations on various platforms to ask for advice or simply show their unique designs. The concept even contributed to the creation of LEGO Ideas, the sub-brand of the Danish company responsible for turning fan-made designs into actual sets, with the creator getting 1% of the royalties.
The brand keeps on pumping out new sets, and now fans can expect a new LEGO Harry Potter set next month. New Pokemon sets are also coming next year, and the evergreen Super Mario line recently got a set dedicated to Luigi driving a kart. Between near-infinite crossover potential with other franchises and existing collabs, fans typically have plenty to choose from when it comes to builds. Yet, some of the most popular builds online are those that creatively turn existing sets into something else entirely.
Custom LEGO Star Wars Tatooine Build From Golden Retriever Puppy Set
A LEGO fan by the name of JamesTton33 shared an amazing build on Reddit made almost entirely from the existing 11384 Golden Retriever Puppy set, and it recreates a Tatooine homestead from Star Wars with a Bantha and a Landspeeder. The Star Wars theme is very popular for LEGO and has been for a long time, so it’s no surprise that a recent leak detailed a LEGO Star Wars set with over 6,000 pieces priced at $799, and it’s seemingly planned for October 2026. Even with no scarcity of great LEGO builds, JamesTton33 managed to make an amazing one that depicts the everyday life of Tatooine homesteaders. While the minifigures used in the pictures are not included in the Golden Retriever Puppy set, they can be purchased separately on third-party websites for just a few dollars.
The build also includes the iconic Bantha, a horned, buffalo-like creature found on Tatooine that can transport heavy cargo and people. Tatooine is also known for its podracing scene, as seen in the Star Wars prequel trilogy through young Anakin’s point of view, so it makes sense to see a Landspeeder in JamesTton33’s build. The build’s instructions are also available on Rebrickable, though they are not free. Recently, a leak detailed 11 LEGO Star Wars sets coming in 2027, but none of them seems to be dedicated to the iconic planet of Tatooine.
One of the most fun and interesting trends online within the LEGO community is to transform existing sets into an alternative Millennium Falcon build. To honor this, a fan recently turned LEGO Botanicals’ Mini Orchid set into a Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, showing that pretty much anything can become the infamous ship.
Creative builds are not exclusive to fans, of course. Another leak states that a new LEGO Star Wars x Marvel set will launch in 2027, possibly as a homage to the popular sci-fi IP’s 50th anniversary. This is seemingly called “Iron Falcon,” and it will allegedly feature a fusion of Star Wars and Marvel characters as minifigures.
