LEGO Fortnite‘s v29.30 update added the ability to add animals to the village, a feature players have been requesting for a long time now. What makes this mechanic quite useful is that it is not only cosmetic and can be used as a workaround to gain plenty of resources pretty quickly.
While there are plenty of items that can be crafted in LEGO Fortnite, making some of them can be quite troublesome. Gathering the ingredients is the most difficult part of the process, which can make it extremely time-consuming. How to Build an Animal Farm
Before players can start adding animals to their farm, they need to add an animal farm, also known as a barn. The barn can be accessed from the Build Menu once gamers have a Level 2 Village. If users don’t have a village, they will first need to start one by building a village square. A village square can be crafted using 10 wood and 10 granite. Once players have that, they need to build structures in the village to increase its level, such as the Campfire, Shack, and so on.
After that, gamers will be able to unlock the barn in their recipe list. The barn can be built using 10 Planks, which can be obtained by using Wood pieces in a Lumber Mill. The Lumber Mill can be built using 8 Wood and 15 Granite. Both these items are fairly easy to obtain and can be found scattered across the game’s world.
How to Tame Animals
Once players have the barn added to their village, they will also unlock the animal treat along with it. Animal Treats are crucial for taming animals, and they can be made using the grill. Gamers can craft a grill in LEGO Fortnite using 30 pieces of Granite. With the grill ready to go, an animal treat can be crafted using 5 Vines and 3 Corn.
Whenever users find an animal that can be tamed in the wild, all they need to do is equip the Animal Treat and go close to it to get an option to feed it.
This will make them start following the player, and they can eventually be led to the village. Once the animal has been brought to the village, all players need to do is interact with the barn and assign the animal to the village. It should be noted that not only do the animals need a barn to stay in the village, but they also occupy a resident spot. There are a total of five residents allowed per village, which are unlocked as and when players upgrade their village.
Bringing animals back to the village can be a bit tricky, and there might be instances when the animal simply stops following. The good news is that they can be fed treats again and they will start following the user. Gamers can also lure them into vehicles to take them back to the village, which makes the taming process somewhat easier.
How to Take Care of Animals
Taming an animal is only part of the job done since they should be taken care of as well. The animals need to be fed and players should also pet them to increase their happiness levels.
Additionally, if gamers don’t pay enough attention to their animals, they might leave as well. A good workaround for this is assigning a villager to take care of the animals, which will ensure that don’t get ignored and are fed from time to time. This can be done like regular job assignments, which involve interacting with the villagers and asking them to be an Animal Caretaker.
Moreover, when it comes to feeding the animals, giving them treats is not required. Players can feed items such as Corn and Wheat to the animals by simply interacting with the Barn and assigning the item. The food that is given to animals is of particular importance here, as it will determine the items users get and their happiness level. For instance, feeding cows snowberry yields snowberry shakes while pepper seeds can yield spicy burgers. On the other hand, chickens can produce Fried Eggs when fed pepper seed. There are plenty of combinations to try, so fans can switch up things a bit to easily get some harder-to-get items.
