SPOILERS AHEAD FOR LIES OF P
Few developers can compete with FromSoftware when it comes to making the best soulslike games on the market, but Nough (developer, formerly known as Round8) and Neowiz came the closest with Lies of P, with the title of its sequel leaking online. Unfortunately, that doesn’t necessarily mean Lies of P‘s sequel is getting fully revealed soon, but it’s definitely tantalizing for fans of the hardcore fairytale soulslike game.
Lies of P recently made the jump to Nintendo Switch 2, and while it’s great to see the OG getting continued attention, there’s an appetite for more from the world and gameplay honed by Nough. Lies of P is easily one of the hardest Soulslike games in the genre, but in a way that is as punishing as it is fun.
Lies of P Sequel’s Name Follows Up on Its Ending
As fans know, Lies of P‘s ending clearly indicated what would come next, and the new game’s title reinforces that. A new European trademark, filed by Neowiz on September 9, 2026, lists a new game called Wonders of O, which follows the title structure of Lies of P. As opposed to Lies of Pinocchio, this title confirms a direct sequel to Lies of P as “Wonders of Oz,” following up on the tease of Dorothy. The listing provides little information about what Wonders of O actually is, but it identifies the trademark as “Virtual reality game software,” which is a generic classification used for video games. It doesn’t mean VR games, for those who are more attuned, and is just a generic classification.

As fans know, Lies of P‘s ending comes with a particular conspicuous tease (SPOILER) suggesting that Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz would be the next fairytale/protagonist explored by Nough and Neowiz. After Pinocchio’s story reaches its conclusion, the game shows Dorothy’s iconic red slippers before she eventually enters Krat, suggesting that she could be at the center of the next Lies of P story. Neowiz did not follow up on that tease in Lies of P: Overture, which instead tells its own story and reaches a separate conclusion.
While there is no official confirmation that Wonders of O is the in-development “Lies of P 2,” the name immediately calls to mind The Wizard of Oz and its famous setting, while the trademark being filed by Neowiz basically confirms it. Lies of P already established a universe built around reimagined classic stories, so a follow-up centered on Dorothy would fit neatly into the direction the original game appeared to be teasing. The biggest question is what form this sequel will take, as it could go in many directions with The Wizard of Oz‘s premise, but it’s all but guaranteed to be a soulslike action RPG.

For now, fans will have to wait for Neowiz to say something officially about Lies of P‘s future. The studio has not fully announced Wonders of O as a new game, nor has it confirmed that the trademark is connected to a sequel, meaning there is still plenty that remains unknown. But it seems that the golden brick road is at least being built, and Dorothy will soon take center stage in the Lies of P universe.
