The Warlock is a very versatile class in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, giving players the option to lean on their summons or make use of arcane spells to slay foes. As a result, the Warlock has become one of the strongest Diablo 4 classes in the brief time since Lord of Hatred’s launch. Among the top builds for Diablo 4 Warlocks in Season 13 is one that essentially lets players play a game of Pac-Man, treating enemies like Pinky, Inky, Blinky, and Clyde, and the Warlock’s summons like a Power Pellet-empowered Pac-Man.

Pac-Man is a gaming icon known for munching pellets and fruit as essentially a floating yellow head, turning into a nightmare for ghost enemies once he gains a Power Pellet. Diablo 4 recaptures this feel with the Blazing Scream skill on the Warlock, allowing the class to summon a flaming skull that launches forward, bouncing around the screen and munching enemies it hits. With the right setup, this Diablo 4 build can terrorize Mephisto’s forces across the region of Skovos while letting players feel like they’ve transported Pac-Man straight to Sanctuary.

Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Players Should Invest in This War Plans Activity ASAP

When Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred players hit the endgame and unlock War Plans, there is on activity that should be first on their list.

Blazing Scream Warlocks Can Spam Fiery Pac-Man-Like Demon Heads

When building a Warlock in Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, players will need to consider several key factors, including which of the Warlock’s four Soul Shards to invest in. These Soul Shards can have a fairly large impact on how the Warlock plays, allowing them to summon a Greater Demon, each with different abilities. For this build, Diablo 4 players will want to invest in the Ritualist Shard, since it grants access to Valloch and empowers the Hellfire skills that make Blazing Scream such a fun build for Warlocks to use.

The Best Skills to Use on a Blazing Scream Warlock Build

  • Blazing Scream
  • Command Fallen
  • Tortured Wretch
  • Dark Prison
  • Sigil of Subversion
  • Apocalypse

The focal point of this build is Blazing Scream, a Hellfire Core skill that sends forth a fiery Demon Skull that deals 130% damage to enemies it hits. With the Skull Splitter upgrade via Lord of Hatred’s new Skill Tree update, Blazing Scream also spawns smaller Lesser Demon Skulls that seek out enemies. This puts the skill in the unique position of being both a Lesser Demon and a Greater Demon skill, opening the door to some interesting synergies.

Command Fallen is the Basic skill of choice on this build due to its excellent Wrath generation capabilities. With how much Wrath the Warlock will be spending to cast Blazing Scream, having Command Fallen to keep this resource topped off will be crucial to this build’s success. As such, the Wrath upgrade for the Warlock’s Command Fallen summon skill is ideal.

The Dominance upgrade is also perfect for Command Fallen, since the Warlock will need Dominance to cast Tortured Wretch.

Tortured Wretch and Dark Prison are both great options for trapping enemies so that Blazing Scream can take them out. Tortured Wretch summons a demon that Taunts enemies and forces them to attack it for 5 seconds while damaging them, while Dark Prison creates a totem that binds enemies to it, preventing them from escaping. Both of these skills are perfect for crowd-controlling Diablo 4 enemies and keeping them within range of Blazing Scream, allowing it to hit them multiple times as it bounces around the screen.

Sigil of Subversion creates a ritual that Hexes enemies within it, and killing 8 enemies or demons within the ritual sends forth shadow trails that grant the Warlock one stack of Shadowform while in them. With the Seekers upgrade, Sigil of Subversion can aid in corralling enemies by teleporting them back to the ritual location the first time they come in contact with a shadow trail.

Apocalypse is the Ultimate Skill Diablo 4 Warlocks will want to use on this build as it can deal massive Hellfire damage in a large area, which synergizes well with the rest of this build’s playstyle. The Survivor Damage upgrade is particularly useful since it increases the damage enemies that survive Apocalypse take by 100% for two seconds, increasing by 200% if they are Hexed. This helps Blazing Scream easily finish off any survivors of this Ultimate.

Uniques and Legendary Aspects that Empower Blazing Scream Warlocks in Diablo 4

  • Elegy
  • Bindings of Attrition
  • The Eightfold Idol
  • Aspect of Ritual Synthesis
  • Cremator’s Aspect

When choosing equipment to bring this build together, there are three Diablo 4 Uniques that Warlocks should look for. The first is Elegy, the Unique One-Handed Sword that grants Blazing Scream the Skull Splitter upgrade for free and increases its damage by 20-30%, allowing players to invest in a different upgrade for the Core Skill. Additionally, players will want the Bindings of Attrition Unique Pants to buff their Dark Prison skill by resetting its cooldown in exchange for 48% of the Warlock’s Maximum Life, in addition to a 20-30% damage reduction while Dark Prison is active.

The Eightfold Idol Unique Ring is the final necessary Unique for this build, which allows Blazing Scream to leave a Sigil of Subversion shadow trail behind it. It also adds 160-200% damage to Sigil of Subversion. With this Unique effect, Sigil of Subversion’s ability to teleport Diablo 4 enemies who touch a shadow trail back to the ritual site becomes even more effective, since it will have more chances to activate.

The two best Legendary Aspects to include on this Warlock build are Aspect of Ritual Synthesis and Cremator’s Aspect. Aspect of Ritual Synthesis makes it so that casting a Hellfire Skill grants Occult Skills a 30-50% cooldown reduction for 3 seconds, allowing Blazing Scream to reduce the cooldowns of skills like Sigil of Subversion, Dark Prison, and Apocalypse when cast. Cremator’s Aspect is the main reason why the Ritualist Shard and Valloch are needed for this build, since this Legendary Aspect increases the damage of Fire Skills by 70-100% when the player has 4 or more Overpower stacks. As Valloch grants the Warlock more stacks of Overpower, it also increases the power of Blazing Scream and Apocalypse to create a brutal Hellfire combo.
