Magic: The Gathering officially revealed the new “Set Phasers to” Superdrop via the game’s official social media. The Superdrop includes five Secret Lair sets that fans will be able to purchase individually or as a bundle. The New Worlds Secret Lair features Star Trek-themed full-art versions of each of Magic‘s Basic Lands, while the other drops are largely themed around individual Star Trek series or characters, including The Original Series, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. The Tlhingan Mah Secret Lair even features reversible cards, with one side featuring English text and the reverse written in the Klingon language. The Set Phasers to Superdrop will officially release on November 9, 2026.
The batch of Star Trek Secret Lairs includes plenty of popular and highly sought-after Magic cards. The previously-mentioned Tlhingan Mah includes a variety of Red staple cards, like Seething Song and Warstorm Surge. Commandeer, included in the Khaaaaaaaan Secret Lair, is a popular choice for many Blue decks, allowing players to gain control of an opponent’s noncreature spell without having to spend mana. The Beam Me Up Secret Lair also includes reversible cards, featuring artwork of the characters before and after they are beamed up to the USS. Enterprise.
Magic: The Gathering has often used its Secret Lair releases to introduce a variety of crossover content to the game. Properties like Final Fantasy, Marvel Super Heroes, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have each received their own Secret Lairs, bringing artwork based on the franchises to some of Magic‘s most iconic cards. Wizards of the Coast has even debuted entirely new collaborations as Secret Lair releases, including the popular Stardew Valley Secret Lair, which was officially released in July 2026.
Fans of Magic‘s crossovers should have plenty to look forward to from the beloved trading card game. Wizards of the Coast has already revealed the first major Universes Beyond set launching in 2027, showcasing Darkhold Destiny as a new Marvel-themed set featuring an original story. Magic will launch two more crossover sets throughout the year as well, though Wizards of the Coast has not officially confirmed its August 2027 or November 2027 Universes Beyond expansions. Magic: The Gathering continues to break new ground with its crossover content, with 2027 set to bring even more new properties into the iconic TCG.
