Magic: The Gathering is getting two surprise releases tying into one of the best sets of the year, and they’re launching soon. Between three in-multiverse sets and four Universes Beyond sets, Wizards of the Coast has had a busy year in 2026 and is now preparing for more releases in 2027. Among the sets officially revealed for Magic: The Gathering in 2027 are three in-multiverse releases and one Marvel UB set to continue WotC’s collab with the comic book company.
Interestingly, this is the first-ever original UB set for Magic: The Gathering, as it features a setting made by WotC and Marvel combined, with Magic in mind first and foremost. It does feature some iconic Marvel characters, but they are depicted in a Magic-first light in terms of art style, general aesthetics, and even in-game abilities. Although MTG‘s Universes Beyond sets tend to do well overall thanks to the hype from fans of the IP, in-multiverse sets can also do very well in terms of sales. Lorwyn and Strixhaven in 2026 are great examples of this, and Reality Fracture is up there too. Now, Reality Fracture is also getting two major new releases.
Magic: The Gathering Officially Reveals New Secret Lair Drops
- MTG Reality Fracture Secret Lair drop: 怪異学校 — Strange School
- MTG Reality Fracture Secret Lair drop: Duality Distorted
Wizards of the Coast has revealed brand-new Magic: The Gathering releases themed around the Reality Fracture set, which came out on October 2. The first is called Strange School, a manga-themed drop featuring five cards that serves as a follow-up to the same Secret Lair drop dedicated to Secrets of Strixhaven. In this case, the cards are meant to match the twisted nature of the Hexhaven schools created by Jace Beleren in the Echoverse, and the cards chosen for the special treatment are Attrition, Bitter Ordeal, Ophiomancer, Sign in Blood, and Soul Spike. The second drop is called Duality Distorted, and it does something similar to Strange School in concept by twisting iconic MTG cards the way Reality Fracture does. The cards for this drop are Thoughtseize, Desperate Ritual, Pyroblast, and Tribute to the World Tree.

Both drops are priced at $29.99 for non-foil and $39.99 for foil cards, and they will soon be available on Secret Lair’s official website, though no specific launch date is currently known. The drops have some high-value cards in them, or at least cards that are actively used in one or more formats. Magic: The Gathering‘s Reality Fracture is the end of an era for the TCG due to Jace Beleren’s death after 19 years of being the face of the game, and while he is not present in the new Secret Lair drops, his story is all over the design of these exclusive cards.
Though new treatments are constantly coming via Secret Lair, Magic: The Gathering is adding a new type of card with its next set, launching on November 13. Recently, WotC also announced that reprints of MTG‘s Warhammer 40K collab would become available.
Not only that, but three MTG crossovers are available now on Secret Lair’s website, including Marvel, the movie Labyrinth, and KPop Demon Hunters. Hopefully, the queue and availability for the new Reality Fracture drops won’t be as bad as many Secret Lair releases, so that fans will be able to get these exclusive cards.
