How Roads Work in Manor Lords
Roads play an important role in the productivity of the people living in your region. While the residents can still work without using any roads, their movement speed, especially transporting, gets much faster when it’s done by well-built roads.
Additionally, several establishments must be connected with a road to operate smoothly. A road can also help you increase your game’s aesthetic, as you get to design each road as you like.
However, roads are not meant to be built haphazardly, as several factors need to be checked before creating a road in Manor Lords. Most importantly, you must ensure you are not building any road over the fertile regions that can produce emmer, rye, barley, or any other crop. Doing so will result in losing some vital areas that could have been utilized to grow essential crops that can contribute to the economy and your prosperity.
How to Make Roads
Making roads is simple and easy and can be done without much hassle. To start constructing roads in your settlement, press R on your keyboard, and the road construction menu will pop up. Building roads is free; thus, you will not have to worry about any cost, and you can build a road as long as you want.
To start, point the marker and press the Left Mouse Button to mark the road’s starting point. From there, keep dragging the points towards which the road will be built. To add realism and make things easier for you, you can curve your roads in Manor Lords, by holding the Control button while placing marker on the map.
To curve the road, put your marker where you want to add a curvature, hold Ctrl, and then move the marker toward where you would like the road to end.
How to Delete Roads
If, at some point in the game, you realize that a road is obstructing your way to advancement, there is a way through which you will be able to remove the road. To delete a road, open the road construction menu by pressing R, place the marker on the road you want to remove, and then click the Left Mouse Button while holding the Alt key on your keyboard.
A pop-up will appear, asking you to confirm if you want to remove the road; click ‘Remove’ to proceed. Once you have chosen Remove, the road will disappear from the map permanently. You will then be able to utilize that area for something productive and create a road somewhere around that area that won’t waste any potential resources.
