Marvel Rivals Fans Are Sick of Bots Ruining Quick Play Mode

Marvel Rivals Fans Are Sick of Bots Ruining Quick Play Mode

While many players seem to be enjoying their time with Season 5 of Marvel Rivals, some members of the community have come together to express their frustration with the current state of Quick Play in NetEase Games’ popular hero shooter, claiming that there are too many bots. Marvel Rivals is currently nearing the end of Season 5.5, which added the X-Men characters Rogue and Gambit to the title’s ever-expanding roster. Notably, Season 5 was the first season that didn’t add a Duelist to the roster, as Gambit turned out to be a Strategist and Rogue is a Vanguard.

2025 was a big year for the popular hero shooter, but it seems as if NetEase Games is just getting started. In a recent interview with Den of Geek, Executive Producer Danny Koo teased that 2026 could be even bigger for Marvel Rivals. While Koo didn’t get into specifics, it seems as if a steady stream of content is already mapped out. While this will definitely include new heroes, gamers will likely be treated to a wide variety of new game modes as well. NetEase Games has regularly added new modes to the hero shooter since its debut, but the developer seems to have struck gold with its zombie-themed mode. Taking inspiration from the Disney+ show Marvel Zombies, the mode allows gamers to face off against zombie variants of iconic heroes like Scarlet Witch and Namor. While the mode was originally set to expire in November, NetEase Games extended its window of availability multiple times due to its popularity within the community.

Marvel Rivals January 2026 Update Gives Players An Easy Way to Quickly Progress Their Battle Pass

Marvel Rivals releases a new update for January 2026, making some important changes while also adding a handy seasonal catch up mechanic.

Marvel Rivals Players Aren’t Happy With Bots in Quick Play

In a recent post on Reddit, SignalDifference348 posted an image of their match history, pointing out each match where they believe the enemy team was made up of bots. This isn’t the first time players have taken issue with bots in Marvel Rivals, as gamers quickly realized that these NPC enemies were in the game shortly after it launched. Fans shared videos of enemies acting in strange ways, often following similar patterns that wouldn’t make sense for human players. After pointing out which matches contained bots, SignalDifference348 stated that they believe this is a problem in the game right now. Many players agreed, claiming that it takes a lot of fun out of the experience. While Quick Play is meant to be more casual than the game’s ranked mode, a lot of players would still like to know that they’re playing against actual people a not computers.

Some gamers responded with a bit of skepticism, stating that they sometimes believed they were playing against bots until the enemy team began to engage with the title’s chat function. However, one fan pointed out that bot teams often have all of their profiles set to private or restricted, giving away that there might not be an actual player behind the account. Some gamers believe that Marvel Rivals‘ bots try to mimic human behavior by using things like sprays, which don’t have any functional purpose in the hero shooter. These actions make it even more difficult to tell when an enemy team is truly made up of bots.

Some members of the community would like to see bots removed from Quick Play entirely, even if that means longer queue times and tougher matches. There’s no way of knowing if NetEase Games will change the way bots function in Quick Play, but the developer does have a decent record of listening to the community’s feedback when making adjustments. Despite a few bumps in the road, it seems as if fans of the game have a lot to look forward to. It was recently revealed that Deadpool will be coming to Marvel Rivals, though players currently have no idea which role he’ll fill. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
