Yacht Club Games has revealed that its next major title, Mina the Hollower, will be making its debut in spring 2026, though the developer did not provide a specific date. Mina the Hollower is an upcoming indie title from the studio that created Shovel Knight, a side-scrolling platformer that became a runaway hit after launching in 2014. Once it releases, Mina the Hollower will be available on the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

With Mina the Hollower, Yacht Club Games is looking to make another big splash with a title that draws inspiration from iconic retro hits. Instead of receiving a side-scrolling experience like Shovel Knight, Mina the Hollower offers a top-down action-adventure experience that appears reminiscent of older Zelda titles. Players were given a chance to try out Mina the Hollower during a demo that was launched in June 2025 as a part of Steam Next Fest. The demo was removed from Steam’s digital storefront once the event ended, but gamers have been told that their progress will carry over when the title officially launches on the platform. Fortunately, it seems like players won’t have to wait too long for the full experience.

Mina the Hollower Launches Spring 2026

In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Yacht Club Games gave players an update on the development of Mina the Hollower, which experienced a delay near the end of 2025. Thankfully, gamers won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on this upcoming action-adventure indie title, as it will be launching in spring 2026. While this isn’t the firm release date some fans were hoping for, it is an encouraging update from the team behind the project. In addition to getting a new release window, Yacht Club Games revealed that it will be launching a limited-time demo for Mina the Hollower on February 13. While the ambitious indie game will be making its debut on a wide variety of platforms at launch, the demo will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5. The developers have also confirmed that progress made within the demo will carry over to the full release of the game later this year.

Gamers who choose to boot up the demo will be able to experience the game’s opening stage, and it will even allow players to tackle the first boss. This will be a small slice of Mina the Hollower‘s full experience, as Yacht Club Games has revealed that the game is actually quite large. For instance, the developers have confirmed that the game has 25 unique bosses and mini-bosses, weapon upgrades, 60 trinkets to find, numerous gameplay modifiers, new game plus, and a full level-up system. Players will even be able to enjoy a fishing mini-game, bringing a bit of a cozy element to the title.

Yacht Club Games has stated that Mina the Hollower is the studio’s most ambitious project to date, offering players over 20 hours of adventure to enjoy. It’s no secret that there’s a lot of hype around this title, as people have been eagerly waiting for it to arrive since the success of Mina the Hollower‘s crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Much like Shovel Knight, crowdfunding played a crucial role in the game’s creation. If Shovel Knight is any indication, Mina could end up becoming a major figure in the gaming world, as the developers seem to have a knack for creating characters with a certain mascot-like quality. With a new release window and a full demo for gamers to enjoy on PlayStation 5, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Mina the Hollower.
