Minecraft is getting a new biome in its third game drop of the year, which was revealed during the May 30 Minecraft Live broadcast at TwitchCon Europe. Mojang also revealed the name of the second Minecraft movie during the presentation.
Minecraft Reveals New Dappled Forest Biome, Teases Movie Sequel
Mojang showed off the brand-new Dappled Forest biome during its recent Minecraft Live presentation. The fresh biome will feature rustic orange colors throughout, hinting at an abandoned camp nestled in the trees for players to discover. The addition of dappled forests will introduce a new type of tree, with brown-and-orange poplar trees scattered throughout the biome alongside new red shrubs. The presentation also included a surprise teaser for the sequel to A Minecraft Movie from Warner Bros., which revealed the title of the second film as A Minecraft Movie: Squared. Minecraft‘s new forests will debut as part of the third game drop of the year, expected to launch sometime during Q3 2026.
