Players inside the multiplayer mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 have discovered another Easter egg on one of the maps, which is an actual working 3D printer. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is finally available to everyone, having just come off of an Early Access portion which gave fans who preordered the ability to play through the campaign and eventually the overhauled DMZ mode a few days early.

Easter eggs and a surprising attention to detail are nothing new for the Call of Duty franchise, especially for the Infinity Ward-developed games. There are no shortage of examples from even just the past few games in the franchise, including being able to summon a massive Teddy Bear in the 2019 release of Modern Warfare. Naturally, this pushes many players to scour the game’s campaign missions, as well as the other modes available in each game to try and discover some hidden content that the developers have placed there. For the newly released Modern Warfare 4, players have found an actual usable 3D printer on one of the multiplayer maps.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Has a Working 3D Printer in Multiplayer

A Reddit user named muggs1213 posted footage of a unique Easter egg they found on Modern Warfare 4‘s Cachette multiplayer map. Heading into the armory, they came across an impressively detailed 3D Printer, though instead of interacting with it, they used a melee attack on it to break the screen. However, they were likely surprised to see that, by doing that, they were able to find a random gun waiting for them inside it.

After running a few tests, muggs1213 discovered that the gun featured inside the 3D printer appears to be random, with a familiar resin style skin applied to it to really sell that it was 3D printed. They admitted that they’re unsure how many guns can be found within it as they did see a few repeating weapons appear, but so far, they’ve come across a decent variety. Based on the minute-and-a-half long video, they’ve come across a good variety of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 weapons from this device, including the Obrez Mosin Nagant, Oris 8.6, Hyeon Hyperburst, Type 73, KG-7 Vulcan, and many more.

Reaction to the discovery has been positive, with plenty of comments under the post praising the little details that Infinity Ward has added to the game. Many are linking the weapons and attachments to Modern Warfare 3‘s Aftermarket Parts feature, which allows players to construct completely new weapons outside the Gunsmith functionality. Others recalled the JAK 3D weapon camo, which gave weapons a 3D printed style look. While muggs1213 did mention that there is a 3D-printed style skin available in the game, it’s currently unknown how to actually unlock it for use.

For those curious, this isn’t the only 3D printer available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. DMZ players can unlock a 3D printer starting at level 2 at the FOB Station. While the device is mainly used to let players print out gear, consumables, and other upgrades, its functionality is fairly limited at first, with more recipes being unlocked at higher DMZ levels. In fact, gear recipies run all the way through level 55, which finally gives players a way to print disposable parachutes to take with them, an item that many have found out the hard way no longer comes standard in a loadout like they do in Warzone.
