Starting on November 6, Call of Duty: Warzone returns with Season 1 as it fully integrates with the Modern Warfare 4 experience and Activision has provided all the details on what to expect. It has been a very strong start for Modern Warfare 4, though anticipation has continued to grow with Season 1 right around the corner and the return of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Thanks to an early access portion prior to the game’s launch, players were able to go hands-on with the campaign and then the newly revamped DMZ mode, both of which received plenty of positive word of mouth. Combined with strong critical reviews, and Modern Warfare 4 has become a big hit for Activision, contributing to the Call of Duty franchise’s recent $40 billion sales milestone. However, Season 1 is now right around the corner, along with the return of Call of Duty: Warzone.

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 Details

Starting on November 6, alongside the big Season 1 update for Modern Warfare 4, Warzone will also become fully integrated with the current Call of Duty experience. What this means for players is that all 33 Modern Warfare 4 launch and Season 1 weapons will be available, Daily and Calling Card Challenges, Apex Attachments, Battle Pass and Black Cell progress, as well as a player level reset allowing progress to be made across Multiplayer, DMZ, and Warzone. Tactical Sprint is also available without a perk, weapons will be better balanced, and visibility, readability, and footstep audio will be improved.

In terms of content, Activision also provided a full roadmap for Season 1, which starts with the brand-new map Hajin. Players will deploy to this new large-scale map, which takes place across the entire Korean Peninsula with 13 points of interest and covers all sorts of different biomes and environment types. Similar to DMZ, Hajin will feature variable weather patterns to add a bit of dynamic elements in each playthrough to keep players on their toes. Also, as expected, eliminated operators will be sent to 1 of 2 Gulags where they’ll battle in a 1v1 fight to earn the chance to redeploy.

For fans of Warzone Resurgence, an all-new version of Zodiac will also be available. The smaller and more compact experience features 10 POIs to explore. Alongside Hajin and Zodiac, Verdansk will also make its return later in Season 1 as an alternative Battle Royale experience, while Rebirth Island joins once again for Resurgance players. Finally, there are new gadgets to uncover, including Grabber Drones and the Zipline launcher, while there are new intractable objects, perks, and modes to discover.

As part of this update, it also marks the first time that Warzone will be available to play on the Nintendo Switch 2. It aligns with the fact that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 also launched on the Switch 2, with the post indicating that the Warzone experience will feature everything that other platforms will have as well, including Haijin, Zodiac, and every other map and playlist.

Prior to this announcement, there had been plenty of talk surrounding Call of Duty‘s Carry Forward program, an initiative that lets players take previously unlocked operators, skins, and legacy weapons with them to the new experience. Unfortunately, there was a bit of controversy regarding everything that was to be included, as Activision had to apologize for incorrectly stating that weapon camos would be part of the Carry Forward program when that isn’t actually the case.
