- Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is working on multiple unannounced Harry Potter video game projects.
- A sequel to the successful open-world game Hogwarts Legacy is highly anticipated and likely to be announced at some point.
- The multiplayer game Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is expected to be released later this year.
It should come as no surprise to fans, but it’s been confirmed that there are even more Harry Potter video games in the works. With books, film adaptations, theme parks, and various video games under its belt, Harry Potter is easily one of the biggest IPs in the world.
Harry Potter has long had a presence in the gaming space, with most HP games taking their cues from the books or the movies. More recent years have seen WB become more aggressive with its Harry Potter video game strategy, launching the Portkey Games label to produce new games set in the Wizarding World universe. Most of these games have been proven hits, and so it makes sense that even more Harry Potter games are on the way.
The Best Harry Potter Games Of All Time
Even though Harry Potter games tend to be extremely hit-or-miss, a few releases capture the magic of the books, movies, and the overall universe.
This is according to Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad himself, speaking to Variety. According to Haddad, WB is working on multiple Harry Potter projects that have yet to be announced. There are so many possibilities when it comes to future Harry Potter games, but there is one possible title that seems the most obvious.
With Hogwarts Legacy selling 22 million units in 2023, a sequel to the beloved open world Harry Potter game is a no-brainer. Hogwarts Legacy 2 has not been announced at the time of this writing, but one has to imagine that the game’s reveal is matter of when, not if. As for the other Harry Potter game projects, it’s anyone’s guess as to what those might entail, but there is at least one upcoming Wizarding World game that has already been announced.
