The player shared a screenshot of an item with an orange label and the image of a binocular but with no name or description indicating its use. In the comments, other Redditors reported seeing the item while playing Pokemon GO, but it is unknown if there is a way to replicate the glitch to get the item. In addition to the OP, YouTuber PkmnMasterShubh was one of those who received the mysterious object and showed it in a short video.
Pokemon GO Players Curious About Unreleased Item
With the appearance of the mysterious item, it didn’t take long for Pokemon GO trainers to start wondering what its purpose in the game might be. A comment from the Reddit post noted that it was datamined a few weeks ago, and its name “is ‘cassette’ or something similar.” They highlight the image of the binoculars, speculating that it might be a way to increase the number of field research tasks Pokemon GO players can have.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Pokemon GO players got something before launch. Last year, Kyurem Black and White appeared in Pokemon GO as a reward for trainers who played PvP.
