The release of a new Diablo game is always a momentous occasion – the series is no stranger to long gaps between releases. It can be a painful wait for fans. Now, there’s a brand-new Diablo release on the way in 2027, coming with an eye-watering $2,599 price tag that will likely put it out of budget for many fans.
The last mainline game in the series is 2023’s Diablo 4, which has since released two significant expansions. Blizzard has launched 14 seasons of content during that time, most of which come with their own seasonal mechanics to freshen up the gameplay. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing – the recent Diablo 4 Season 14 came in for particular criticism from the community – but the general sentiment is that the game is much better than it was upon its release over three years ago.

PureArts has recently announced a new Diablo release set to drop in Q2 2027 – a life-size Art Mask of Mephisto, based on the character’s appearance in the recent Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred expansion. The details on the mask are pretty staggering, with hyper-detailed sculpting of the character supported on a display base that is “formed from a swirling mass of tormented bodies and flesh.” According to the manufacturer, “Every texture and organic detail has been meticulously sculpted to bring the horrors of Diablo to life.” It also features LED light-up eyes, enhancing the mask’s presence in every room. Pre-orders for the mask are available now, the caveat being that it costs an enormous $2,599, which may put it out of budget for some collectors.

Part of the massive $2,599 price tag is exclusivity. The Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Mephisto mask is limited to just 150 units worldwide, making it very exclusive. Given the sheer detail here, it makes sense. The 1:1 scale mask is sculpted from polyresin and stands at 36 inches tall, 35 inches wide, with a depth of 25 inches. It weighs a hefty 70.5 lbs, which is to be expected at this scale. For those who don’t want to shell out $2,599, PureArts also has a 1/2 scale version of the mask at a much cheaper $529. Half the scale with a similar level of detail, but missing the LED light-up eyes.

PureArts has long been a premium option for fans looking for high-end gaming collectibles across multiple franchises. The company has lots of exciting projects in the works at the moment outside of Diablo, including the recently announced Assassin’s Creed Edward Kenway 1/2 scale statue, which is currently up for pre-order for $2,999. There’s no doubt that these collectibles burn a significant hole in the wallet, but it’s difficult to complain with the level of detail and craftsmanship in each piece.
Collectibles are cool, but they don’t quite substitute for a new game in the series. Given how infrequently mainline Diablo releases have typically been released, it’s possible that Diablo 5 is still many, many years away yet. Earlier this year, one developer revealed that Blizzard wants to speed up development on future Diablo games, which may offer some hope that the wait for the next title may not be quite as bad as history would suggest.
