Remedy Entertainment may be preparing a new Alan Wake release, with a newly filed application bringing the mysterious Alan Wake’s Return name back into circulation nearly a decade after it first appeared. Alan Wake returned in a major way with Alan Wake 2 in 2023, and Remedy has continued expanding the franchise through additional content and its wider connected universe.
Remedy Files Mysterious New Alan Wake Trademark
A new Alan Wake’s Return application has now appeared with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), with Remedy Entertainment listed as the owner and a filing date of September 15, 2026. The application, numbered 019422415, is currently under examination and covers several broad entertainment categories, including video games, films, music, audiobooks, comics, printed books and guides, clothing, television production, film production, and online services. As of now, Remedy has not announced a new Alan Wake game or explained what the filing is intended to cover, meaning the application alone does not confirm Alan Wake 3 or any other specific project.
