A brand-new week has officially begun, which means ARC Raiders players have yet another set of Trials challenges to dive into for some fresh rewards. Every Monday, ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios provides the community with some optional objectives to work towards in exchange for in-game rewards. While some can often be repetitive, Embark is taking full advantage of the new ARC enemy that was recently added to the game, resulting in one of the hardest Trials challenges to date.

As an extraction shooter, ARC Raiders is all about obtaining the best loot in the game. While the primary way of doing this is by heading Topside, taking out fellow Raiders, and scavenging around the game’s various maps, there is also the divisive Trials system. Each week, five new challenges are added to the game, with each one having an attached star rating system. Depending on a player’s performance, they can earn between one and three stars. Completing a challenge with one star rewards you with an Uncommon item, two stars get you a Rare item, and three stars unlock an Epic item. On top of this, players can climb the seasonal leaderboard, with higher ranks earning even greater rewards at the end of the season.

While Marathon hasn’t had a huge effect on ARC Raiders’ player count, both titles are still navigating the growing extraction shooter genre.

ARC Raiders Reveals New Trials for April 6 – 12

arc raiders trials challenges april 6

Between April 6 and 12, players have a new set of ARC Raiders Trials to complete. Many of them are pretty straightforward, such as damaging Wasps, searching Raider Caches, dealing damage to ARC while in Old Town on Buried City, and disabling mines in the Locked Gate event on Blue Gate. However, one particular challenge could be the hardest one to date, as it requires players to deal damage to the Vaporizer, a new ARC enemy that many believe is the most overpowered addition yet.

On March 31, Embark released the massive Flashpoint update for ARC Raiders. Not only did it add two new weapons, an insanely difficult new map condition, and some new features for the beloved Scrappy, but it also introduced the Vaporizer. This deadly new ARC enemy is already being called more overpowered than the Rocketeer, as it is essentially a flying Queen/Matriarch hybrid. Laser attacks, a shield, and the ability to fly – the Vaporizer is only available in the new Close Scrutiny map condition, but it’s undoubtedly one of the most intimidating additions yet, and players are now being forced to deal damage to it for the latest set of Trials challenges.

This might be the most difficult Trial yet, but it’s definitely not the strangest. One of the biggest complaints fans often have about ARC Raiders‘ Trials system is that the included challenges can often be rather repetitive. To combat this, Embark mixed things up in March when it added a new Trial to ARC Raiders that required players to be hit by lightning. This meant players needed to head into the Electromagnetic Storm map condition and, as the challenge suggests, get hit by lightning. Many blasted it as “not fun at all,” while one user said it “sums up Trials in general.”

Embark could be cooking up something even deadlier for ARC Raiders‘ next big update, as Riven Tides is set to launch later this month and will introduce a new large ARC enemy to the game. Details on what the new enemy will be like have yet to be revealed, but many are expecting something similar to the Queen and Matriarch. However, given that Embark has admitted the current large ARCs in the game are being taken down by players far too quickly, you can bet the studio is going to increase the difficulty this time around.
