Bloodborne is one of FromSoftware’s most beloved games, and its reputation has sustained its popularity into 2026 and 2027. The PS4 exclusive game earned widespread critical acclaim, sitting at a 92 on Metacritic, with reviewers praising its gothic setting, aggressive combat, and challenging boss fights. More than a decade later, it’s still regularly discussed as one of FromSoftware’s best games, and its incredible DLC is a huge part of that reputation.

In fact, there’s a strong argument that Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is even better than the base game. The expansion earned an 87 on Metacritic and delivered some of the most memorable and difficult encounters in the entire Soulsborne franchise. Ludwig the Accursed, Lady Maria, and the Orphan of Kos are all beloved boss fights, although the latter is also infamous for being one of FromSoftware’s most punishing challenges. Beyond its difficulty, The Old Hunters expanded the game’s lore, introduced some incredible weapons, and gave players even more reasons to explore the nightmare. It’s a DLC that many fans consider essential to the full Bloodborne experience.

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters Getting the Spotlight in 2027

Now, a new Bloodborne: The Old Hunters release is officially coming in May 2027, although it isn’t a new game, remaster, or port. Good Smile Company has opened pre-orders for a collectible re-release of its figma Hunter: The Old Hunters Edition, a collectible figure based on the Hunter’s appearance in the DLC. The figure features articulated joints for a variety of poses, allowing fans to recreate some of Bloodborne’s iconic combat animations and encounters. It’s particularly fitting for a game where looking good while fighting absolutely horrifying monsters is practically half the appeal (even if those monsters are probably going to kill the player dozens of times).

Find the odd one out before the timer hits zero.

The Bloodborne: The Old Hunters figure also includes a surprisingly extensive selection of weapons from the base game and DLC. Players familiar with the game’s arsenal will recognize the Saw Cleaver, Hunter Pistol, Hunter Blunderbuss, Hunter Axe, Whirligig Saw, and Ludwig’s Holy Blade. Each weapon can be used with the figure’s various poses, while the Saw Cleaver can even be transformed into its extended form. An articulated display stand is also included, giving collectors more options for displaying the Hunter. The figure is priced at 12,800 Yen (or roughly $81 USD), with pre-orders limited to 3 per customer and shipping expected in May 2027.

The weapon selection is one of the coolest aspects of the figure, especially given how important trick weapons are to Bloodborne’s combat. The Whirligig Saw, for example, is one of the most memorable additions from The Old Hunters, allowing players to tear through enemies with what is essentially a giant circular saw. Ludwig’s Holy Blade is another popular weapon, offering excellent versatility and damage. Of course, weapons are only part of what makes the DLC so beloved. The Old Hunters features some of the toughest fights FromSoftware has ever created, and mastering the game’s combat is practically a requirement for overcoming its final challenges.

It’s been more than 10 years since Bloodborne: The Old Hunters first launched, yet the expansion is still regularly held up alongside the best DLC FromSoftware has ever released. A collectible figure obviously isn’t going to satisfy players hoping for a proper return to Yharnam, but the continued interest in Bloodborne speaks for itself. At this point, even its merchandise is getting rereleases before the game does.
