Woodo, a new cozy diorama puzzle game, has released a new trailer during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase for March 3, revealing it is coming to Switch and Switch 2 this summer. While Woodo had been previously announced, this latest trailer is good news for those on Switch and its successor console who have been craving another cozy game to check out.

Despite only being the beginning of March, Nintendo has already hosted several presentations in 2026. Multiple Nintendo Directs have been hosted, including one for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and another for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Additionally, a Partner Showcase on February 5 featured third-party titles coming to Switch and Switch 2. While many Nintendo fans are still waiting for the next fully-fledged Nintendo Direct, they recently received a look at some upcoming indie games thanks to a new Indie World Showcase.

New Switch 2 4-Player Co-Op Game Revealed

The latest Nintendo Indie World Showcase was packed with exciting announcements, including a long-awaited co-op sequel that’s heading to Switch 2.

Woodo is Releasing This Summer

During the March 3 presentation, gamers received a new trailer for Woodo and learned the title would be coming to Switch and Switch 2 in summer 2026. In the trailer, the developer Tiny Monks Tales shared a closer look at the charming gameplay. As the name suggests, players have to assemble wooden dioramas as they progress through a story featuring Foxy and Ben the frog. These main characters, along with the other animals seen in the dioramas, have adorable designs that could be right up the alley of some cozy gamers.

As a puzzle game, players are tasked with placing wooden objects into scenes to complete them. The dioramas in Woodo are set in a 3D space, meaning the camera can be repositioned to get a better idea of where each item should go. Once placed, each piece features an animation, helping keep the scenes dynamic. Additionally, the game includes narration to “keep you company” while playing. It is worth noting that the Switch 2 version of the game will be compatible with the console’s Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, potentially adding to the satisfaction of placing items.

Besides Nintendo consoles, Woodo will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC via Steam. In the case of PC, players can already test the game out thanks to a Steam demo. Featuring several dioramas, it should help players decide if the game is right for them.

Several Games Were Shadow Dropped After the Nintendo Indie World Showcase

While gamers will have to wait a few more months before they can play the full version of Woodo, Nintendo fans have other indie options in the interim. During the Indie World Showcase, many games were announced for the platform, with some already available. Notably, Blue Prince was shadow dropped for Switch 2 following the presentation. The first-person puzzle game was one of the highest-rated games of last year and was in the running for both Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game at The Game Awards 2025. Additionally, Rotwood and MiniShoot’ Adventures were shadow dropped after the event, the former being for Switch 2 and the latter available on Switch as well.

Even though first-party support for the original Switch is slowing down, indie developers continue to offer new experiences for players. The Switch 2 has sold over 17.37 million, but many gamers have yet to make the jump. Hopefully, Woodo will deliver for cozy game enthusiasts on both the original Switch and its more powerful successor when it arrives later this year.
